What lies behind those dark, foreboding clouds...?
I started this one way back in march for a "monster" prompt, but only recently listened to it again and thought "Hey, I could actually turn this into something decent!". When I first played Touhou 12's Extra Stage and got to Nue, I immediately fell in love with Heian Alien; it sounds so menacing, yet when it switches to a softer melody it suddenly feels almost lonely. That's what I wanted to replicate in this song: the scary front and then the vulnerable back, all while sounding vaguely unsettling. :]
Nue's design looks very alien and flat-out weird, which is why she's always been my favorite character to draw along with Utsuho. I was planning to make the black/white color split design from the start, but it was only at the end that I realized how much it looks like Bad Apple. I guess it keeps it feeling Touhou-music-esque, so it's all good~

This is real snazzy! It sounds like the music I'd use in a DnD session to introduce a spooky monster in a derelict clocktower.
