We embark on a 12 day traverse of the Spanish Pyrenees, starting off just north east of Pamplona and ending in the Banyuls region in the south of France. This episode begins at Camping Urrobi where we attempt to sort out some minor GPS and route issues before heading towards the fascinating Bardenas Reales badlands in Navarre.

Great to see you back! See you’ve had a few equipment changes since your last series - be good to know how you’re getting on with them 👍🏼 Hate to come across that hole at night !!

Thanks mate! Yeah we upgraded the roof top tent, there's a good look at the tent in part 4. It was a bit of an investment but worth every penny!

Hi Hi interested in your truck development (I have same truck) In your first 2016 vids to Maroc, you had no canopy & just tuff trek tent in bed Then a canopy Then you swap from a RTT to a hard shell tent Is the hard shell warmer & bigger? Then you move the hard shell tent from mounting on canopy to mounting above the cab Is your final solution the best evolution (just trying to learn from you and get it right first time) Do you have an Instagram or FB page?

Hello. Thank you for sharing your journey. The wife and I travelled around some of the tracks near Espot last year. We are going back in July, hoping to do coast to coast. Being slightly cheeky, would you be willing to share your route with us? Cheers either way, Simon and Rachel

Hi Simon, no problem! The route we followed is a wikilocs route, I'm not sure if you've use the app before but it's simple enough; I think the subscription costs about £3 per year, you download the trail and the relevant off-line maps for the area and off you go. Here's the link to the route - www.wikiloc.com/offroading-trails/trace-4x4-pyrenees-traversee-4489504 It's a great route, loads of good wild camping spots 👍.

Hi Guys, Really enjoyed the series, just found you guys quite by accident, was looking at people doing the NC500 in Scotland and your winter trip came up, really good. Wanted to ask where you get you trail maps from, how you know which trails you can use etc. Both home and abroad. The Pyrenees looks fantastic, I'm very jealous!! Also wanted to ask where you get your music as some of the tunes I really like. Cheers, Daniel

Hi Daniel, thanks! For route planning I've used the 'vibraction' road books a few times; they're a French company and the books are all in French but the routes are easy to follow. Here's the link to their website -www.vibraction.org Another resource I've used a lot of recently is Wikilocs -www.wikiloc.com. If you haven't used this site before it's really worth a look, there are literally hundreds of thousands of off road routes that you can download to your phone and follow them. You need to buy the app but it only costs £3 a year or something, the entire Pyrenees route that we done was one single wikiloc trail - 750 miles! This is the route -www.wikiloc.com/offroading-trails/trace-4x4-pyrenees-traversee-4489504 It's much easier to get off the beaten track in places like Spain and Portugal, most of the tracks are genuine rights of way that haven't been sealed for one reason or another. The tracks that you can't drive are usually clearly marked as 'private' but if they are open nobody will bother you. Most of the music in my videos have been picked up from listening to BBC Radio 6 Music. Cheers!

Just in case technology gets unreliable, always carry paper maps!
