As a Pyro main, there is a lot you can do with 5 buckets of lava. A lot of it requires playing defensively, but it's a lot.

Techno hasn’t change in the past 4 years

I used the pyro kit twice. I won both times. Place the lava as water, and then use it to climb back up if you fall. Also almost no one can fight you on equal grounds if you are submerged in it, they have to avoid it while you can swim freely through it and attack from any point of it..
