All you need to do is change the import logic for gtk and fix the label text setting. For the imports, remove his try catch block stuff. Do instead: import gi gi.require_version('Gtk', '3.0') from gi.repository import Gtk as gtk The setting of the labels needs changing too. Instead of setting the text by passing just the string you'd do: gtk.Label(label='new page')
