I have just recently completed the 1/35 scale Italeri version of this tank. I have always liked the look of this tank as in 1940- 1941 it was one of the best tanks available. It had a decent sized gun for that era and excellent running gear and engine. The only draw back would have been it's reliance on rivets in it's construction as welded seams would have been better. (You would not want to be in a riveted tank when an enemy shell strikes you) Otto Carrius was in one when it was hit. One of his crew members lost an arm as a result of a sheared rivet hitting him.
***** In 1940 the pzkpfw 38 (t) was one of the most efficient tanks in the German panzer arsenal. Virtually every tank had a 37mm gun at that time and thin armour. The chassis was so good that it survived in tanks such as the Hetzer right up to the end of the war. You ask me what I think I know, what I've just told you is historical fact.
Your going to need to be about 5'6" and 130lbs to be somewhat comfortable in that. Is this the tank where orignially the Commander was also the Loader and Gunner?
Feels a lot like that video about old people in a tank museum arguing that the T-34's gun was german because the people who designed and built the guns had been visited by german engineers ten years earlier or somesuch. The big difference being that the host in this video seems too young to be suffering from that level of dementia. Good translation anyway.
@@WasilijSaizev *main* designer, yes, but I sincerely doubt the design of this vehicle was a one-man project. It's a nice tank with perhaps some soviet influences, but modern-day russia is neither the USSR nor the russian empire. There's no need for them to go around saying "this is mine" sbout everything remotely related to the USSR.
@@gustaveliasson5395 This guy has included some weakspots in the Hetzer design, for example. If you go to work, there is also some guy telling you what to do.
