Hi David and Sarah. I love your QA series and I hope you'll keep doing these. My name is Harald and I'm from Romania. I've built a small, shallow liner pond like 10 years ago but nobody lived there until recently so the pond dried up and the liner cracked. I've been living at the property with the pond for the last two years and I've recently cleaned up the old liner and intend to redo the pond, deeper this time. But right now the ground is frozen so I'll have to wait for spring to do that. I don't have a question right now but I might have some when the weather warms up and I start working on the pond. Have a warm winter!

it's truly wonderful how knowledgeable you are about pools and walls and such. Americans love listening to the British natter on about any subject.

There is Gracie & Allen, Ginger & Fred, Charlie & Edgar, Laurel & Hardy, Bonnie & Clyde, Tom & Jerry, Ingred & Humphrey, Mutt & Jeff, Siegfried & Roy, Eva & Adolph, Eve & Adam, Audrey & Cary,... both of you are entering the pantheon of iconic dyads! Sarah & David, you are quintessential natural pool ambassadors. As always... lovely to see and hear from you two!! (from waaaay across that large natural {ever expanding} pond to your west)

Hi!! Thanks so much for responding to my question, somehow I missed the video till just now but I’m very excited to hear back. I’m actually just now finishing everything up and building some decks. I ended up kind of inventing a way to keep the wall down that is working great and I did put my air line in a loop However I buried it in the gravel With the other piping and I’m Not sure that was the best idea long term for Maintence but it is like that and if one day I must I can dig it up😅. Still need a bit more gravel, build the decks and plant the plants but I’ll send a pic of where it’s at for now!

Thanks! The common sense would make us think that plants are absorbing the nutrients (nitrate and phosphate), leaving not enough into the water for the plants to grow. However, it seems that it’s not the reason why algae are not growing. Some build swim ponds without plants and achieve similar results (clear water). Furthermore, I experimented with a small pond and saw the green water becoming clear in no time while aquatic plants are growing very well and nutrients are still present In the water. I wonder if an algae floculation occur when they come in contact to the biofilm (thanks to the airlift and drain system)? What is your view on this? BTW I just love love love your videos, you and Aquaponics Revolution (which is my channel 😅) are the best! ❤

Is there a chance you might make a video about converting a swimming pool to a natural pool at some point? I've really tried to apply your methods to my project but without any extra space around ours I'm thinking of creating the gravel area at the shallow end.

I'm beginning a 1 acre clay pond which will have a shallow zone approximately 25% of the total. I know you normally drawl into the regenerative zone. Is there an issue with drawing from the deepest point to the shallow and feed the airlift into a false bottom with clean out. Essentially instead of drawing through the regenerative pushing into the regenerative for filtration.

What are your thoughts on a pool that remains unattended for 8mo of the year, deals with maine winters, and is entirely off grid? I've had issues with batteries over the winter being depended on and trusting the pool site wont freeze solid and bust

Are you familiar with TEICHSWIMMER and their tec-free natural pools without plants? Can you comment on this?
