Honda needs to address the 11th gen accord steering rack /clock spring issue with the creaking at low speeds or no speeds. A lot of people are complaining about it on Reddit.

Love seeing these hit my feed. Had to replace my keyfob battery today, that was easy. So appreciative that it was a standard battery and Honda/Acura made it easy. Also, my headlamps are already de-laminating. Going to see if that's covered under warranty.

On some cars you can see a bit into the top end if you remove the oil fill cap. Shine a flash light into there and check for varnish, or in worse cases, sludge. As for P0420 codes, if the readings are cycling I've used a spark plug defouler on the downstream O2 sensor and the code went away. Don't believe it will always work, but it's only a $10 item.

I can confirm that my oil dipstick was stained from neglect years ago. I cannot remove it, even with diesel engine degreaser. 😂 I have had a persistent P0420 code as well that comes and goes. (Approaching 177,000 km/109,000 mi)

Besides more frequent oil changes, is there anything that can be done to reduce/fix the oil dilution problem on the 10th gen Accords? A 3k oil change feels like a bandaid rather than a solution.

what's a common issue for a misfire only under heavy acceleration? No check engine codes and fuel injectors and spark plugs were done at the dealer. I monitored misfire data and it's all four cylinders Misfiring, not clearly coils either. Iam thinking possibly carbon buildup carbon buildup, 2018 Civic 1.5t sport hatchback

@@BCautosolutions after a 10-minute drive I had cylinder one misfire four or five times sewn or two misfire 6 or 7 times cylinder 3 misfired twice and so under four misfired six times during 10 min drive, and btw I never felt a thing. Iam a mechanic apprentice

@@brianlindsay1193 3 weeks in I would atleast expect an update by week 1 or at the latest week 2. The job shouldn’t be rushed (maybe they are waiting for something) although an update on their parts is warranted. I would call them at this point 💯

5k away from 200 thousand on my 2014 civic si anything you would change as preventative? Or any kind of maintenance I should do not burning oil been dyno tuned roughly since 125k miles( former honda dealer trained tech) but want more seasoned person opinion. Thanks

@@angelmerino19 I would look closely at hoses, belt, etc. probably a great idea to do a valve adjustment if it hasn’t been done. Pcv valve often gets overlooked. Maybe a thermostat? They really don’t fail but why not.

Thanks did hoses at 130k miles when I replaced aluminum radiator, oem water pump, oem thermostat at 190k for p0128. Did belt, valve adjustment, and plugs will redo it! PCV needs done. What about alternator? It’s working fine let a sleeping dog lie? Oil pan has slight seep, but it doesn’t go down between oil change. Do I drop subframe and reseal?

@@angelmerino19 if you do the alternator might as well do starter as well. Oil pans typically don’t leak. If there’s a o ring anywhere in that area and change that first. If no o rings then reseal the pan

Hey..... not sure if you can answer this question...... I went to my Honda dealer in Canada and they weren't super convincing with their answer...... was just curious if you've seen this situation.... I have a 2022 Civic sedan with the 2L CVT.... it's my first ever automatic transmission. After starting from stone cold in the morning..... on any day less than say 60 - 65F... and if I rock between reverse and drive the engine revs will wiggle up and down between 250 rpm to 500 rpm each way...... up and down..... not just down when it grabs a gear. It goes away after like two or three minutes after the car warms up a bit. The dealership says it's normal, but I've never seen it in an automatic I've driven. Have you ever seen this? Or are they full of it? I hope you don't mind me asking...... I absolutely love your channel!!! Cheers!

And, I should add... it wiggles up and down only once per gear change..... it doesn't seem normal to me.... but as a historical manual driver I don't know.... I miss manuals!! ☹

@@MrRedHotChiliMan It changes to drive and reverse smoothly...... just the up and down wiggle of the revs.... and then once I start driving it operates fine..... it just seems like when it's cold and I move from reverse to drive etc that something isn't locking up properly. But only when first starting cold..... is this normal?

@@heytherehowareyou1272 like actually cold weather or just normal cold start? Secondly, has the car always done that or just recently started? Because if it hasn’t always done that, it’s probably a sign of an issue. Seems abnormal to me, but I’m also not familiar with your year, make, and model of car. My wife drives a 2010 tl, I have an 08 Tacoma, and a 07 CRV that are auto. None of them rev search when switching if warmed. But when you first start cold, generally the car will adjust more gas and your car initially revs high for a bit to warm the car up. Might not be the worst idea to let the car get warm for a minute before taking off. Get the juices flowing so to speak 😆
