I always like hearing you explaining ship life to people who want to go out on ships. Number 1 I love your accent and expressions. Number 2 you tell it like it is. Please don't stop making the videos.
Hey Lucy, I really enjoy your lively candor in addressing all sorts of topics and responding to the question. I'm currently researching while I've only come across this opportunity to apply as I'm empty nesting, and looking forward to a new lease on life, and work. Blessings to you for work efforts to educate us.
The entertainers onboard also have more time to get off the ship on port days. Jordan Bauth, an ice skater onboard Royal Caribbean, also has a You Tube channel.
Hey Lucy, love your previous videos about the crewmembers working in various departments. I especially love the gentleman that was the seat. D. P. Could you please do more crewmembers working in department, such as future cruises, servers, and restaurants, bartenders, and maybe a manager in food and beverage. Thank you. Janice
The most beautiful Lucy! ♥️🌹😍 I cruise as a "guest", but I watch all of your videos because it's very interesting to me and your videos are so much better than what is on regular tv which I almost never watch. I must say that you are very knowledgeable and the ins and outs of working as a crew member. I have no doubt that you are helping many people who are considering working on a ship, so keep up the great work that you do! Sending good thoughts your way from Fall River, Massachusetts in the USA! Glory to Ukraine! ♥️🇺🇦🇺🇸♥️
Cheers for this Lucy answered questions I was curious and you put some pretty good information out there, stupid question do they have roles in IT on the ship?
Hello! Thank you so much for your wonderful content! I am wanting to start a career in the cruise industry, can you please do a video describing the different cruise lines and their cultures? You do a little bit, but I am just trying to figure out which cruise line would be the best fit for my personality. Thank you! ❤
14 hours per day, 7 days a week. How is that even legal? With working that much you are only getting 3-4 hours of actual free time in between shifts including a 7-8 sleeping time.
I saw a girl on Instagram working for Virgin and I thought she has an amazing job😢 but I watched your videos and I am really sorry for disturbing her on Instagram like stupid then she blocked me😅 I feel sorry for her now I didn't know she was working at such a boring job. ❤️🇸🇿
Hey gal really love Ur context I just got a job as a pastry chef...is it thaaaat bad working there I hav always loved to work here am starting bin march
I will never refer to passengers or guests as sailors as to me sailors are the people that work on the ship like Popeye the Sailor Man. Given your rising popularity on You Tube and maybe other platforms, is there a significant amount of people that inquire about you to other crew and does it cause any issues or resentment with other crew members? Would you be allowed to do an interview or a Q & A with someone from a cruise recruitment agency while you are on land?
@@michaelmelik7993 you're very lucky. I guess it could also depend on the position? And maybe the company? When I had interview with NCL they told me they'd put me immediately on the ship but I rejected the offer and went with another company.
@@deimantenorkute6762 lol and I was fkn brain with letters to recruitment team why it takes so long , I am on assist cruise director position, but all of my mates who were in casino staff dealers they got even faster like 1 week
I mean, there is a HUGE difference between a "larger" person and a "plus size". a larger person CAN be healthy, a plus size, and let's not kid each other.... it's not.
Question: what is cruise life like for people with disabilites? Are there any disabilities that simply can't be adjusted for? I strongly suspect that a wheelchair or a walker can't fit in the engine rooms!
Here I am 🤚 yes you can, they sell non-alcoholic beverages as well (they are free in Virgin). So, definitely yes. But some dumb individuals will ask you stupid questions
Cuz I'm halfway into the application and it says passport yes I know you need a passport but can I still fill out the application if I don't have a passport yet or do I wait should I wait go get one and then fill out the
When you fill out the application to work on the cruise ship if it tells you you need a passport do you go get a passport on your own and then stopped application and then when you get the passport fill out the remaining of the application or do you just fill out the application with no passport and then when I tell you to get your paperwork then you fill out the I get the passport how does that work
Lucy has spoken about the applications process in some other videos here. As well as having career guides on her website, that should give you more details! Generically, I suggest that you don't wait to get a passport (you need a passport for all int'l travel). I don't work on a ship, so take this advice for what it's worth, but....but, don't stop the applications process once you start. I hope this helps? Good luck!
Hey Lucy , i hope you're great I've been following you for a few months , and i have to say you are an inspiration to me , thank you for delevering such an amazing content specially on youtube ... I pass the Harding interview and now im geting my C1D Visa , the thing is i would like to know if you recommend to get the STCW now our if you recommend waiting because i heard that some companies give the curse on board.
What if after my contract I wanted to travel somewhere before going back home, what will. E the situation with the flight tickets provided by the cruise line ?
Lucy might have a better answer for you. Perhaps look at her career guides on her website. But, generally the answer is going to vary, and depend on your ship, your disembarkation nation/port, your particular job and contract. But, most importantly, it will depend on the nationality of your passport and what VISA's you have. Hope this helps?
well there is two different types, while i was on carnival i used to work in crew mess and hours were like 5:30 to 9 for breakfast 1till half 4 and then 7till10pm but if you are on sea day you have tea time from 3till4 in crew mess and most interesting for people who finish late work we had 11till1 another set of dinner. So in that because i helped both crew mess and staff mess, the food is different because od major popularity of people are from asia crew mess food is more focused on t the
their cuisine and staff is focused on international food.In all of above you can always have avalaibility to get some food so you dont have to worry about it.
Is there any instances of pirate attacks on cruise ships that you know of? I am sure it is very rare these days but it happens to cargo ships sometimes so I imagine it could happen to a cruise ship. What security measures are in place to prevent pirate attacks?
maybe in the past but not anymore this ships are build to sustain this attacks and even if it happened the ship gprs is tracked by us coast guard and all the places they visit so can you imagine being attack and for example you are expected to arrive in Cozumel and people who make their money from ships coming losing this affects them
@@kondeeeeeee1303, I imagine they would be perfectly safe off the coast of the United States where the coast guard patrols the waters. What about Ocean crossing voyages? I'm sure the US navy and the UK navy would put a stop to the attack if in the area, but they can't be everywhere at once. Is there weapons available to the security officers for such situations when and if they arise? Maybe procedures to lock all the corridors to keep the passengers safe from such threats?
