Great video! You are such a lovely couple. My little guy is just finishing up kindergarten at public school. It has been the most wonderful year for him - friends, arts and music, field trips, dress-up days, learning about the Earth etc. It cannot be beat! Public school is fabulous, I hope Ivey gets the chance to experience it with all of her peers 🥰 One question I had for a future video, what is couples counselling like? Do you work on specific goals or is it more of a place to work things out?

I've been tracking my net worth since 2017, even though i also have debt, and for me it's incredibly motivating to keep myself pushing forward and also gives great peace of mind when I see my overall picture improving over time. Even if you're only paying the minimums, the number would still get better every month. I think if you tracked it even for just two or three months, you'd be pleasantly surprised
Thanks for talking more about retirement plans! Highly recommend at least contributing the minimum amount to get a company match. I’m sure you already know the importance of compound growth with retirement savings. Do you guys ever watch Ramit Sethi’s RU-vid show I will teach you to be rich? Feel like it’s right up both of your alleys! My husband and I are in a similar boat with student debt and saving for a home. It’s so difficult!
Loved hearing your thoughts on schooling decisions. It's such a difficult choice. I'm also struggling with this. I really dislike how much tech is in schools now where even at elementary level are given chrome books in our district. Leaning towards homeschool but it seems kinda isolating.
YES! Omg that too! Or really thinking through how long they're supposed to sit in school (and why do all schools have zero windows and look like prisons??) But on the flip side, i loved extra curricular activities and had so many friends at school so I don't want to take that away from her either.
@@JessieFritz def agree! I’ve joined a few homeschooling groups on Facebook and some people recommend finding out when the elementary school has their “special” classes like music gym ect. They are usually the same time every day but alternate the class. Some schools will allow you to have your kid just attend those and then take them home for homeschooling.
I definitely hear you on the schooling thing. I'm a public school teacher myself so it all feels complicated 🙃 For now our kiddo will be entering a public school for kindergarten. If we could and if we had the budget, we would prefer to send him to private/Catholic school but it's just not feasible at the moment.
