I would say to check out the suburbs of Dallas Fort Worth for more affordable places. Like Grand Prairie, Richardson, Celina, Prosper. The more expensive suburbs are Plano, Frisco, Denton, Flower Mound. These places are not directly in Dallas but Frisco, Plano, Irving are very close to Dallas. I’ve lived throughout the DFW metroplex and I would suggest taking a look at those places. I’m not sure about Houston, but I also hear about the hurricanes. I’ve never had an experience with a hurricane and I hope I never do. Good luck with your goals and if you ever need help, I am here!

I've been in the Dallas area my entire life, moved here because it's close to home, just a 5-hour drive. I chosed Fort Worth for its nice outskirts, and as a realtor, I'd be happy to help you find apartments when you're ready to make a move! You can find you a 2bd 2ba for $1500 in some areas bc it does get real pricey but I’m more than happy to help!

I enjoyed ur Q&A.. your hair is beautiful but so was the sew in ❤️ I’m originally from Michigan but moved to Texas 16/17 yrs ago, now I live in the largest city in Texas which is Houston! N I love it! Plenty to do and while Dallas is expensive, I think you’d thrive in Houston more…. There are some expensive areas in Houston as well but the blk culture n experience in Houston is like no other. Dallas is cool, I just personally wouldn’t live there. Wherever you choose to live in Texas just research research research. Can’t wait to see where you decide to move.

As a memphian who's lived in little rock, Dallas and Houston. Dallas is way too expensive. A 2bedroom will run you about 2500 for the same quality apt u have now. Houston is much cheaper and you'll pay bout what u paying now along with doubling your income. It rains raaandomly but another big hurricane hasn't happened since Harvey. I'm buying in htx. I have a emergency fund for the first thing smoking if they ever think another big hurricane is coming

I moved from Shreveport, La to Dallas, Tx 6 months ago, the rent as I’m sure you already know is crazy, it’s a lot to do over where I’m from but it’s nothing like home, so I’m debating if I want to stay or move around.
