You got Corinthians exactly right. In the Greek it's multiple words from token to veil. I personally went from hair as a covering to an actual head covering. It's hard in the pentecostal community to switch, but I have had nothing but support. So, I encourage others to study and follow your convictions by the Holy Spirit.

Glad you’re ok! My husband pulled poison sumac in Aug. allergic reaction a week later, ended up in the hosp, intubated and on a ventilator for 4 days!!! He’s better now but vowed to never “garden” 🙏🏻 Thx for sharing!

I always appreciate your Q&A sessions. I agree with you in regards of marriage and family being tested/attacked. It makes me yearn for simpler times. Sometimes when I wear a lot of make up for an occasion, I wash it off with Dawn dish soap and then moisturize and use a serum. I thought I was the only one😊

A friend of mine gets poison oak every single year-and it is usually on her face and other areas. She usually has to take Prednisone. Sorry you had to deal with it, Lynette. Good to see you back, but yes-it is fine to take some time away from filming when you need a break for whatever area.

I'm so sorry about your bout with an allergic reaction to sumac. It can feel very disconcerting to wakeup to the blisters, swelling and itching that comes from exposure to an allergan like sumac or poison ivy. Luckily you've done everything right to minimize the symptoms and allow it to run it's course. My grandmother too was sensitive to sumac. One particular natural remedy she stood by was the milky white sap produced by the milkweed plant. As always, I'd I like to extend a thank you for continuing to vlog here on yt . I love that your channel is a wholesome, Christian space. A place to come and feel the fellowship and love that being sisters in Christ brings. Just wandering why it is in the Mennonite videos I have looked at that your women dress modestly but your men do not. They wear shorts and I have seen one in tank tops. This is confusing. Not being critical but very curious

We were warned by a Florida native guy about poisonwood trees when he saw our kids running off the trails and exploring! They were running right around them!, but thankfully we didn't get any rashes! Gotta be careful. Glad you are healing up!

I’m glad you took some time and had a break. I have missed your postings but you need to do as you feel. Your sumac outbreak brought back a memory. When I was in high school (in Louisiana) I got in some poison ivy or oak. One eye was swollen shut and the itchy rash covered a lot of my face.-lol-not a good thing in high school either.

Hi Lynette, we are coming to Sarasota for a well deserved vacation and bringing my husbands parents with us. I lived in Sarasota are for 20 years so I'm pretty familiar with the area. We are staying on Siesta Key in one of those beautiful condos(Air B & B). My question is do you think Marina Jack is a good choice for sunset dinner cruise? We have been on it before a few years ago and was very pleased, hoping it hasn't changed. I love your videos, although I'm well past your age, more your moms age most likely but I still enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing all you do!! Are there medical treatments (cesarean birth etc), medications (pain meds, epidural), or vaccinations Mennonite women are against with during pregnancy? 2. Do Mennonite pregnant women have certain cultural practices during pregnancy, labor, and after delivery of the fetus? 3. Do Mennonite pregnant women initially prefer home births with a doula or a midwife? 4. Do Mennonite pregnant women are against male healthcare providers during pregnancy, labor and delivery? 5. Are there vaccinations or medical treatments to your newborn that Mennonites are against with? 6. Are there certain food or drink Mennonite women consume during pregnancy and after delivery? Glad you are feeling better from your bout of poison sumac. That is probably the most serious of the plant poisons. There is a lot of that here in PA where I live and I remember from back as far as childhood my parents showing me it and warning me about it. I didn't know it was in Florida. We also have poison ivy and poison oak. Thanks for today's video, it was very enjoyable!

Thanks so much for sharing. So sorry about the poison sumac - my daughter had an AWFUL case with that a few years ago. We found "Tecnu" products to be helpful (Amazon). This is where I've landed with head coverings. 1 Corinthians 11 is an interesting passage. Paul is specifically addressing behavior within worship services (not everyday life necessarily) and with a cultural trend where women who advertised their ability/desire to sleep around would not wear head coverings. Idol worship was also associated with lack of head covering. So the point of Paul's discourse was a warning to not look like a prostitute or idol worshipper during a worship service. Fast forward to today and those things no longer apply to head coverings, but they do apply to modest clothing and clothing that expresses worship of something other than God. The context implies that we shouldn't send mixed signals about our character. We can tell from the surrounding context of the passage that times have changed in at least one other way. One practice done back then was to publicly dishonor women by shaving their heads - that was humiliating for them because everyone would notice. Our government doesn't do that. In fact, shaven heads these days are more often connected to health status. Cultural practices change and punishment for crimes changes. So that helps me understand that with verses like these, I need to get to the heart - what was the intent? It appears to be that Paul didn't want Jesus' followers to look like prostitutes or pagans in church. Personally, I find the address to the men to be MORE confusing than the address to women. Is he saying they shouldn't have long hair? Were men wearing female head coverings? Were men acting like pagans who'd pull their robes over their heads while worshipping pagan gods? We don't know for sure. So what's the intent, then? It seems to be similar to the women in that they shouldn't send mixed signals - they shouldn't look like the opposite gender or like a pagan worshipper. For whatever this is worth to anyone who read it, lol. Blessings to you all, wherever you land on this topic! We are all heaven-bound if we believe in Jesus and have repented.
