We love the capsule wardrobe videos and fashion videos here on RU-vid as not all of us want to be on Instagram or Tik tok. Plus videos where the clothes are described in detail are more interesting that quickly edited reels and Tik Toks where the editing is too fast and I don’t know what I just watched. I know it saves the influencer more time but as an audience I feel more connected here than on IG. Also one thing I think all fashion influencers should keep in mind is that this whole industry kind of blew up around the same time. So most influencers are getting the same opportunities in terms of brand deals which is great for them but it sometimes sucks for us. Because like you said with capsule wardrobe videos, the paid partnerships or ads are also repetitive across the board. We are hit with the same videos for Abercrombie, Lily Silk, Goelia, Monica Vinader, and so on from all influencers. Seems like originality went out the door and the more influencers are busy going to brand events, PR stays at hotels, doing videos for the same brands over and over, that’s when they may think their content is doing good but to the viewer it’s really not. We don’t just want to see those brands. Content should be a mix of working with brands and having non-brand fashion content as well. Maybe that’s why we miss capsule wardrobe videos or videos showing clothes from high street brands like Cos, Massimo Dutti, H&M, Zara, Other Stories, Mango (I even like Everlane which influencers only seem to show when they’re working with them). These high street places are where many people shop and where we know that you, the influencer, actually picked those clothes to recommend and not just showing us something you’re paid to show us. Aside from clothing recommendations, styling videos are also very helpful to show how to put pieces together. I just feel like everyone is morphing into one paid sponsorship after another and only make a RU-vid video to promote a brand they’re currently working with. Otherwise they make little to no original content. I’m starting to lose interest in general when I’m really here for some good fashion content. Just my personal opinion 😀
This is super interesting and useful - thank you! Something I hadn't thought about was ads being repetitive for others...I haven't seen this myself as I only watch a couple of videos a week. I guess for me, ads are always really exciting because I turn down the majority of work to save for those I really would spend my money on. But I totally get what you're saying and I have for sure taken note ❤
I deleted Instagram and Tiktok two years ago. I have the feeling that more and more RU-vidrs are switching to these formats, which I personally think is a shame because RU-vid is like a safe space for me. I would also be very happy if more outfit content appeared as RU-vid videos again. A video about a capsule wardrobe would be great!❤
You could look into becoming a Board Member for an animal foundation. Your social media skills would be an asset to such an organisation. There are agencies online that can help match you with an organisation you would love to work with. xx

Anyone who follows you and especially watches your channel, will know what a kind and genuine person you are. The comments normally come from a place of jealousy and insecurity in the person making them. Which I know you know. Your IRL support network and true followers are definitely what counts. Love your channel! I appreciate your classic and modern style, as well as your classy demeanor. I lived with my best friend until we also moved in with our boyfriend/fiances, now husbands. We were also devastated to move out of “our place” together, but knew it was time. Just treasure your time living together and make as many memories as possible. It goes by far too fast.

As a fellow animal lover, I wish you would advocate for cruelty free beauty. It is shocking how many luxury companies do these horrible tests (mostly on bunnies!) that are not required in most countries and are totally unnecessary. There are also tons of alternatives and luxury makeup items that DO NOT test on animals. I really think we need to make choosing cruelty free the norm until some of the companies left in the dark ages take notice.
