I started off as a biology major in undergrad and then I switched to sociology in my third year of college too! I’m also class of 2019, and I’m Vietnamese, so I love seeing Vietnamese people in sociology because I feel like it’s so rare lol
it rly is!! i honestly didn’t even think/know it was an option for me when i went into undergrad. so many start off with bio bc they feel like it’s the right thing to do but I know so so so many people who’ve changed their majors and that’s okay!!
Wow.. your beginning of hs and college experience was exactly mine.. i was a biology major and i immediately changed it to psychology after the first semester and then changed it again to English after continuing to struggle mentally and being depressed during that period.. thank you for telling us your journey!! Am currently a psych and english double major in my 5th year of college and about to graduate this fall!! 💗
thank you so much for sharing your story! just like you back then, I don't know what I want to pursue. i'm currently a 1st year psych student and I have decided to dropout after I finish my 1st semester. not only we got to know more about you but you motivated me too and reminded me of one of my beliefs which is "if it doesn't work out, it's not for you"

i am a biology major who wanted to shift to a soft science course but i never had the guts to do it. i ended up finishing my biology degree but i couldnt help but think what my life would be if i did decide to shift. so happy to hear such stories like yours. i love u so much celine - from PH

I have gotten to love teaching more. At first, I was super anxious and it rly gave me bad feelings towards teaching but once I got used to it, it actually becomes fun!

I agree that you love avocado smoothie!! I love it too! Try to do slice some avocado and put it in a bowl, add some milk with sugar and also add ice on it. It is so good we do this in the Philippines.

I was also a biology major for my first 2 years of undergrad and I was miserable!!! I transferred schools and switched my major to environmental science my junior year and now I’m loving it :,) I’m gonna graduate late but at least I’m not crying myself to sleep doing ochem homework haha

I did not get a master’s! it depends on the program but a lot of them allow you to get a master’s while getting a PhD! usually there are two diff tracks depending on if u came in with a masters or not! it was like half and half for my cohort!

luckily i’m just co teaching so i have an older male professor with me! but i’ve gotten asked if i was a senior in undergrad. I just tell them i’m a PhD student. I’ve been lucky and students have not tried walking all over me!

Hello! Not Celine but I’m a PhD candidate and a professor I would say that failing is OK many won’t tell you that but I would say take a breath and take time to yourself to understand how it happened and if there’s anything you can do. You can always retake the course to replace the grade. You can still get into a great doctoral program!

In terms of politeness treating teacher I twice recieved box of apples wrapped golden fabric on teachers' days. Moreover treatment of own kid very right such as child's clothes that are providing, not only 3meals but also fruits and snacks. (=MY THOUGHTS which should be basically given as essential duties) Our mathematics teacher introduced presents from her friend traveled to Vietnam before.
