Come along with me during my shift and enjoy a day in the life of a correctional nurse. I have been dreaming of being a correctional nurse since before I started nursing school and now it has finally become true!! I absolutely love my job and it is not a scary place to be. FYI, we're allowed to have phones in there we just have to sign them in and out during our shift. If they do a random check and you don't have it then there would be a problem.
I would love to have you follow along my journey! I post tons of different content including pranks, lifestyle, vlogging on this channel! I appreciate EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU who supports me. I promise I notice every comment, like, share, etc.! THANK YOU FOR WATCHING. here goes a day in the life as a nurse. We're on the road to 3k! 🎉 Come join the family! ➡️ Turn on your post notifications so you don't miss a video ➡️ And most importantly, when you rockin' wit us! Love Ya! 🖤 STAY TUNED! ADD ME ON

I can relate as I work in corrections. It is about respect of course. We aren't there to judge. They don't want to hurt us but inmates are protective for the most part of us. I work in men and women inmates.

I got floated to the women's a couple of times, and it was NOT FOR ME... Do you find it more difficult than the men's?

Are you an LPN or RN? I am currently finishing my last semester of nursing school (RN program) and was thinking of correctional nursing! I love your videos and they are so informative. Do you have any advice on entering correctional nursing? Most correctional facilities near me say they require 1-2 years of experience before even applying, so should I just apply even though I'll be a new grad (hopefully)? I would appreciate any help/advice! YOU ROCK!!!

RN and LPN do the exact same job there because there are no IVs or initial assessments. I think only one LPN works there but I honestly don’t know because we all work together. I went straight out of nursing school but kept an PRN position at a hospital for medical skills just in case I wanted to try a different field later one. In corrections you use VERY little medical skills. They will still take you with no experience especially with lack of staff nurses. Hope that answers your question.

How did you skip over being threatened when you first mentioned not being scared for your safety?

🤣🤣🤣I was saying I'm not worried about my safety at my job...not like they are going to kidnap me there. Also they are a lifer so not like they are going to be getting out to get me ...this is also why I work VERY VERY VERY far from my job.

Do they do random drug tests at your job? & do you work at an agency or are you staffed?
@motivatedmimi670

I am staff and no they do not do random tests on staff or inmates u less they seem completely out of it but no. However intakes they do them just so we make sure we can do CIWAs or COWS so we can treat them accordingly
