Having grown up in an Evangelical clan, my father was a Presbyterian minister/Navy chaplain/counsellor, CT was always in our house, I am well educated on the Evangelical spectrum. The fact that Christians don't care about, even laugh at, how millions of their fellow citizens are terrified at what is happening in the churches and political arenas says everything. As if the terror itself is a justification of how sinful we are and deserving of death and hell, and that to follow Jesus shows just how wimpy we are. It's all so blasphemous.

I can't imagine why anyone would walk away from Jesus because of a certain sect of American Christians. Jesus doesn't just belong to America and certainly not just to Evangelicals. They are not the only people Christ died for. The world is full of Christians that worship Christ and don't hate those that don't agree with them.
It happens when you tie "Christian" to church people instead of to Jesus Christ and the Bible. We are all in danger of this. It starts in childhood but unfortunately continues into adulthood if you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus.
I disagree strongly with the concept that America was founded as a Christian nation, and suggest folks ask the Native Americans and African American slaves their opinions. Were there Christians in the founding years? Yes. Was the Bible employed in forming government and laws? Yes. In my city, there are many churches and Christians in politics. Would I say my city is a Christian city? No. When the Christian nationalism starts off with a faulty belief, it's not going to go forward well. Also, I remember the same time I was hearing the Christian nation thing, I also heard that the U.S. was the new Israel. Beep. Nothing in the Bible along those lines.

Why does Russell constantly criticize Trump, but has never criticized Hillary or Biden? Seems hypocritical, among other things. I'd love to hear his "Christian case" for voting Biden/Harris.
Probably because Trumps outrageous remarks are so over the top and anti-Christian that it out shadows any other political rhetoric. Both Republican and Democrat have serious flaws. I don’t t consider Trump a Republican. He’s something else fringe and way out there. In 2015 he made the remark that he could get away with murder on 5th Avenue. What kind of person says that??? Was he bragging? Serious red flags went up and I’ve never changed my mind about him.
I knew Kenneth back in the early 1970s and his preaching was not "prosperity". Now, folks dubbed it "name it and claim it" but I think they misunderstood and didn't realize Kenneth's personal level of faith. Back then, his teaching was strongly about who Jesus Christ is AND who we are IN Christ. This is not something you hear in a lot of churches. I've written to Kenneth's organization and asked them to stop the political stuff and pray for the leaders as we are instructed to do and to express my thought that Trump is man really in need of rebirth, from his own words mind you.
