09:10 I think one possible way to reconcile this could be that there are different levels of purity of mind. At one stage, the aspirant gets ready to attain knowledge, equipped with sadhana chatustaya/daivi sampat. This is the level of misra sattva as per Vivekachudamani: "The traits of mixed Sattva are an utter absence of pride etc., and Niyama, Yama, etc., as well as faith, devotion, yearning for Liberation, the divine tendencies and turning away from the unreal." - Vivekachudamani, verse 118 At a still higher stage of purity, the knowledge of our innate divinity gets manifested. Its the stage of Shuddha Sattva, as per Vivekachudamani: "The traits of pure Sattva are cheerfulness, the realisation of one’s own Self, supreme peace, contentment, bliss, and steady devotion to the Ātman, by which the aspirant enjoys bliss everlasting." - Vivekachudamani, verse 119 All the four yogas are capable of purifying the minds to the fullest extent, in their perfection. That is how they lead to Self-knowledge as per the scriptures. The other yogas can also be helpful for preparing the aspirants of jnana yoga by making them ready to assimilate the knowledge of Self. I think this could be a way of reconciliation.

So nice to see these two Swami together. So glad to see Medhananda moving to California. Both of them are powerhouses and we need few more like them here in the US to shake up things a bit.. No doubt both of them are "Ishvar Kotis"....All it means is they are PCs in an extremely sentient VR game. I am really excited about and look forward to their work in the US... Medhananda could be very much Sri Aurobindo reborn, sometime he even looks like young Aurbindo. Also, such intellectual prowess one can not gather in just one lifetime. I would caution Medhananda to not look at Sri Ramakrishna's Vigyan Vedanta from Aurbindo's "Vigyan idea" lenses. Many years ago I had downloaded Aurbindo's 600 page commentary on Isha Upanishad for free. I don't think I ever read more than few words. Every bit of me said the truth has to be very simple, 600 pages are way too many. I don't think I will ever read it. A Vigyani will NEVER write a 600 page commentary. This is WHY understanding SRK's Vigyan from Aurbindo's PoV is not fruitful. Then how to understand SRK's Vigyan? Either become a Vigyani or find one, there must be a few around all the time. SRK's Vigyan is quite simple in fact. In samadhi, as SRK also says, that all one learns that "it exists" and one is that existence . When one come down from Samadhi one has no special knowledge about "how everything works, including ones own body and mind". But by continuing the spiritual practice and more importantly with God's grace one knows everything. Then one can help oneself and others too. It is really as simple as getting nourishment from the milk, as SRK put it. It is VERY MUCH true that becoming a Vigyani is extremely rare. So what is the point of all this? It is this. Very few people can become monk, deny the world, and become free. Becoming enlightened as a householder is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY .. difficult in this age.. you have to be Neutron bomb to start with. Then what is the way? The realization and teaching of a Vigyani - everything is God, कण कण में राम . Love everyone, forgive everyone, find my own faults. love God and give Power of Attorney to your Ishta. Then this life journey itself could become peaceful and somewhat joyful. Life in the WORLD is very difficult, I do not need to tell anyone that. Vigyan Vedanta shows us a way how to live it.

Great work. Although it's a different thing to ascertain the nature of world philosophically, our outlook towards the world is what indeed matters. Instead of looking at the world as a framework of illusion, it's a much better attitude to see God everywhere. Sri Ramakrishna's teachings on Vidya maya and Avidya maya are very greatly helpful from the perspective of sadhana.

Pranam Swamiji... I have this thought deep inside. Why isn't RamKrishna Mission spreading the msg of Shree Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada & Swami Vivekananda to the villages of rural Bengal as a mass movement. Majority of the masses are still illiterate & weak; they do lack the knowledge of living their life with strength & confidence, being spiritual and not dogmatic.

Swami Medananda’s accent is like foreigners and he speaks very fast. I like the Bharatiya accent which encapsulates motherlike sweetness and tenderness. I personally don't like when a Bharatiya speaks English like the Britishers. It is not too much to expect at least a Bharatiya to speak in a Bharatiya accent. I am sorry if anyone is hurt by my words. 🙏

Namely স্থাপকায়চ ধর্মস্য ইত্যাদি।

The first question about Brahman and Shakti was interesting. Of course, these are finer points in Hindu philosophy, but I feel the Swami may have got it wrong! The questioner was right to point out that Brahman is unchanging whereas Shakti is changing and therefore time dependent (and therefore post-creation - of space-time - implying it is unreal and due to Maya). The Swami saying it is an aspect of Brahman is no different from saying everything in the universe is an aspect of Brahman. But Shakti is not intrinsic to Brahman. Brahman is Existence-Consciousness-Bliss and not Shakti which is a manifestation of Maya!
