Yes. I would pay for your free services because as you say it takes you 3 days each week to do each Friday free lesson. You make a living with music and to not make any money for 3 days a week is not fair to expect it for years from you. It’s not much to pay a few dollars a month on Patreon - I’m sure people are not so selfish not to support such a great dedicated instructor. I’m grateful.

David Thank you for all your hard work. Please keep to Kurd 9 If you’re not a student of David Kuckhermann you should consider signing up for his paying classes. It’s awesome and you have a better understanding of music as it relates to the handpan. Use his lessons in conjunction with other online lessons as it’s different.

I LOVE that all ur videos are on a Kurd!! It’s way easier to follow when we’re both using the same scale. 😃

Hi David, I'll start with this first and then come back to answer more. The stuff you put out I find really helpful. I would have no problem supporting this with some monthly contribution. I like the Kurd you use, I guess primarily because my pan has nine notes on the top as well, and as a beginner, being able to practice the tunes in a consistent note lay out is helpful. That will more than likely change as my ability develops. Thanks again so much, and more later.

Dear David, I'd love to support your work: this would be so well-deserved for the quality of its content and the time you dedicate to it every week. Regarding the scale, I found the D-Kurd very helpful as it is such a common scale: also we can really appreciate the differences in the different grooves when all played with the same instrument. As for the favorite episode, it's hard to pick one as I learnt so much for each and everyone of them (but I'd say the episode with your Top 5 Grooves if I really have to pick one). I hope that with our contribution, you'll keep producing these amazing tutorials. Best regards, Romain Ballet.

I just started with hand pan, David, and I like your videos and explanations. I would consider Patreon with you if it was not a large monthly amount. I am happy with whatever hand pan you use. You probably need a little variety for yourself so changing it up once in a while is understandable.

Honestly, I believe the lessons will be easier to understand on the Kurd 9, instead of on a more "odd" scale like a pygmy! It doesn't sound too repetitive using the kurd. At least to me.

Hi David, thanks for this Q&A session. Very informative! In answer to your Q's: Yes, l do think the Kurd 9 is a good fundamental scale to follow in general. Yes, l think it only fair, as others have stated, to pay a small monthly fee to contribute to future productions. I know someone may not be able to afford, but sure they will greatly appreciate and support you in other ways. Top 5 grooves was a good one and l enjoyed every other session. Gratitude to you for your contributions to us all.🙏🙏

The professional quality of your weekly tutorials and the work you put into them are highly visible. I would very much support them through contribution. Thank you for all your great work and effort to make them available. I enjoy the Kurd9 as far as consistency throughout the series. But would be curious to hear what other scales might bring to the mix. As far as a favorite episode.. I can’t really say because I’ve taken so much from each one that you’ve done. They’ve all been very helpful.

thanks David for your awesome videos each week. I personally found the following two videos the most useful: 1- how to do fast rolls 2- how to develop a simple idea into a composition for the patron thing I think that most of us will gladly contribute without hesitation. BUT please also continue providing free lessons for those that for any reason may not be able to pay for them...

Oh, first of all - thanks again for your videos. I believe they are among the best handpan lessons ob the internet today. :) For what about the instrument that you use - yes, kurd is one of the most popular scales, but many people have kurd 8 (like me, for example) or other scale with 8 notes (+ding), not kurd 9, so using note 9 gives us a need to change the melody.

Hi David, You provide professional quality material and I can hardly wait for your next tutorial. I would definitely pay a reasonable amount for the content. I am new generally to music and absolutely to handpans, therefore any help I can gather is crucial to the quality of time I can spend with the instrument, which is giving me a lot in its own unique way. What I am currently looking for is basically exercises to improve my playing technic as well as some direct music pattern that I can learn and enjoy playing. I believe both are equally important for we all would like to enjoy playing some music for ourselves until it becomes enjoyable by others :) Thanks a lot for your efforts! Zoltán

Hi David, Another fantastic lesson, thank you. I am finding all of the videos very helpful and I really appreciate all the work that you do to produce them. They are a wonderful addition to your handpan dojo course. (The course is fanastic, by the way!) Like others, I would happily pay to support your work on these videos. There is really no-one else doing on-line hand pan teaching of this quality! As weekly videos might not be sustainable long term, maybe you could post a video every 2 weeks? There is certainly enough in each video to keep a lot of players busy for much longer than that. I am adding bits of all of them into my practice schedule. Regarding the scale you use, I have a very different scale to the Kurd 9, (an 8 note E Sabye D) but I have no problem with applying the lessons to my scale, or adapting the notes slightly. Sticking with the Kurd 9 seems the most popular option.

To answer some if your questions: What I prefer is when you compose some melodies and put the partition so I can try to play it back again, I love that. I would be okay yes paying to have access to pdf partitions. I play a D Minor handpan, so it is perfect for me if you use this one too even if i dont mind much transposing from another tone. Thanks for your great videos!

Hi David! Answering to your questuions. I don't think that using only Kurd in your lessons is "boring". Even for me, owner of handpans of different scales. It pushes me to use ideas you explain in other context that is very interesting and fun :) Additional materials for Patreon subscribers sounds great. The best episode... It's not easy to choose as I learned a lot from each of them. But let it be 1st one, about fast rolls, because my rolls improved dramatically thanks to those exercises. Apart from your questions I have question to you. It relates ghost notes. I had not used them in my playing before I watched your lessons. And them really helps to better understand groove, get used to hand pattern and just be more precise in rythm. But it's hard to me to control dynamic - my ghost notes are often not really "ghosty". Could you please give some tips how to improve it? For now I try to play slowly controlling dynamic of each stroke, ghost note, slap etc. Is it the only way? I'm glad to hear that you are going to release lessons about odd meters, polyrythms and harmonic isolation! :)

Concerning your home studio : it is not ( as said in the subtitles) a "ships mk4 microphone" but the firm is called Schoep ! And it isn't a rubin microphone, but a "ribbon microphone" . But what is a Picasso recording? I prefer your Kurd 9 handpan and lessons, because most beginners use this. The most beautiful episode is the one in which one learns a short composition and the 5 best grooves ! I support to use Patreon to finance your wonderful lessons. You really deserve it ;))

All episodes have been a tremendous help to me so they're all my favourite. There is nothing else around that is so helpful as you have been. I would prefer if it was kept to a Kurd 9 to really get a feeling of all the nuances of the scale.

Hi David! Thank you very much for your videos and sharing your knowledge and expirience C: My advice for you: As a Master, you are in the other side, as a person learning without previous music background, like me and other people we are on the ''other side''. It is amazing how you explain in many different ways and a lot of tips! but sometimes it may don't work in the way the brain and hands are responding and taking out this information. Think about, to ask Berlin people or around germany, to come over to you when you record the tutorials, and record with the beginners, medium and advance players and you and the people behind the screen could have another expirience which could have another effect, may be a easiest way for the ''other side'' to understand and incorporate that. Thank you and viele liebe Grüße! Santy

Hi David, I really like your courses and find them very helpful! I already have your Handpan and Sound Sculptures Courses as well as the Handpan Dojos. I understand that producing these courses takes time and you do it in good quality. I would be ready to pay for the courses if the price is reasonable / not too high. (There are now courses from other handpan players that you can buy and I find the price is getting too expensive). The content should be different from the other couses that you already provide. I have a Kurd D and an Amara C#. Even tough it might be nice to have some nice parts for my Amara C#, I think it would benefit most people if you use your Kurd 9 for the courses. (Maybe you could make one course on how to transpose a song into other scales or on accords / sequences that sound good on other scales?) I particularly like the course on the slap on Jan 17 and on different grooves on Jan 25. What I particularly like about them is that there are different levels of difficulty so you have immediate success and still a challenge you can work on. I also like to learn different grooves or patterns as I often use just notes and find it difficult to add some percussion. I would be particularly interested in a course on independence with some exercises. And it would indeed be good to have the notes that go with the videos. Thanks for all your videos and courses - they are really motivating and have helped me make progress. I am already desperately waiting for your videos every Friday! Please continue- they always make me happy!

Also, I wanted to ask if you're planning of releasing such videos for your other instruments, like the riq or frame drum? Would be cool!

Take good care of yourself- und danke für deine tolle Arbeit! Ich finde, du kannst echt gut erklären...
