Sounds like the prime mover has a spun bearing, shouldn't take long to get in there and rebuild it!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great video as always, it's been cool to watch your layout really come to fruition over the last 3 or 4 years!!!
dear qne... excellent surgery, i must say, dr. frankenstein !! unless you are a fan, as i am, of the movie young frankenstein... "eye-gore... its alive, its alive !!!" if you are a fan, you have become dr. franken"steen" ( as actor gene wilder pronounced it !!!) marty feldman was a great "eyegore", too !!! anyway, i had the same exact problem as you .... decoders shit the bed unexpectedly with much frustration. as you did, i put 2 yellow box athgens away for well over 7 years and had to replace decoders as your qne management did. all the guts, electrically speaking, thrown out and replaced !!! my friends at despatch junction, up in rochester, ny, did their "surgery" and now i am happy with the athearn engines. since then, i have come to love p2k "older" sd50-60 engines, of which i have about 20 on my pike, the rosenberg division of the bprr... of course, atlas, bowser, s. trains and the like make their appearances as well. i still cannot believe someone else went thru the same bs, then hid them away as i did many moons ago !!! as i am retired now and spend more time on the layout, i look back and have to laugh about it !!! all cured with a nice plate of 25 hot chicken wings ( i am 30 miles directly south of buffalo,ny) and several ice cold beers !! i have been a fan of yours for many moons... keep the vids rolling, my friend and thanks for the great memories of total decoder failure !!! ps... qne, is it just me or was teri garr relatively hot in young frankenstein ???
Great video -the decoder replacement info was unique and informative. Well done! By the way, have you been continuing to add more trees as bushes? Looks that way - and it looks great.
