The Forgotten Weapons guy recently did a history on why we have SBRs. It goes back to the original NFA when they tried to ban almost everything, including handguns. They then banned short barrel rifles because they thought people would just chop rifles to make up for lost pistols. The handgun part got removed because 2A but the SBR part stayed. It really is that stupid.
The governments new tactic in court post bruen is to try to classify and exclude certain classes of American from "the people" as referred to in the constitution. Basically non law abiding people like people who smoke marijuana are by nature immoral and should not be protected by the constitution because they are not "the people" in the eyes of the government. Daddy gov says "The people" only refers to law abiding citizens. They are that disingenuous... jim crow laws did the same thing. They removed blacks and Indians from being"People" as recognized by the constitution. The government wants to pick and choose who is virtuous enough to be afforded their own inalienable rights... All gun laws are rooted in horribly racist ideals. They were never enforced on white people by design. The government is now defending those laws and saying they are the precedent for further restrictions of every law abiding citizen. Never comply. Absolutely do not register a god damn thing. EVER. Period. Anything. There has never been a gun problem in this country. Only a control problem.

All the flip-flopping from the ATF is the main reason I haven't bought a pistol brace over the years. I don't want to go buy things that are legal today and a felony tomorrow. The NFA is dumb
Agreed. I had a G1 Sig MPX with the brace, which actually had a legit piece of paper from the ATF saying it was ok, and I admittedly sold it at peak c19 pricing. I saw the writing.. the NFA and the ATF is general are crap, but legal is legal.........

Your not complying with federal law bro. The reason people are saying not to comply is because they understand that the ATF doesn't have the authority to make laws or redefine rules. You complying is just allowing the ATF to violate your rights without a fight. Imagine what America would look like today if the founding fathers had just complied with the tyrannical mandates of the king.
Something companies can do, but never do, id refuse to sell to the feds. Fullill existing contracts and whatnot, of course, but if a company is selling the federal government a product they cant sell to citizens theyre part of the problem. And dont say theres no money in it, theres way too many civilians to say theres no money in it and refusing government contracts is its own sales pitch.

The Federal government wanted to ban pistols, (and Silencers and machine guns) but they knew they couldn't because of the 2nd amendment. So, they cooked up a scheme to add a $200 tax, that would make pistols cost-prohibitive. Knowing that Americans would find a way around a pistol ban, the Feds formulated a solution and required rifles and shotguns to have an overall length of 26" and a barrel length of 18". Since American ingenuity was likely to find another workaround, the feds had an added tax for Any Other Weapon (AOW) to cover technology that wasn't invented yet. Almost immediately there was so much pushback, that the feds had to abandon the handgun tax scheme, and removed them from the bill. However, they kept the SBR, SBS, and AOW provisions, the solution to the pistol tax. Soon after this NFA 34 law was enacted manufacturers of .22 caliber rifles complained that the majority of the rifles they made were 16" barreled, so the Feds caved, and declared .22 rifles had to be at least 16", but all other rifles and shotguns must be 18". The law stayed like this for 30 years.... Then, the Federal government surplused millions of M1 carbines to the general public before realizing that the carbines had 17.75" barrels!! The solution to this fiasco was the change to 16+" for all rifles, while shotguns remained 18". SBR, SBS, and AOW regs should be removed from the NFA, it was an overreaching solution to the proposed handgun ban that never happened. One last thing. The Hughes amendment is illegal. It was defeated by vote, and illegally put into the 86 gca by crooked democrats. You can see the video of the vote here on RU-vid.

I get it, we all want to live and stay out of prison and no one wants to be a martyr. That said, being a gun manufacturer is not a privilege by design, the govt has usurped that to become one, and that only happened in 1968. But I don't expect companies to fall on their sword, when we can't even get 1% of gun owner to make comments on rules when they come out, We had better all step it up and resist, speak up and make noise, and I don't mean through advocacy of courts, politicians or gun right groups, I mean you, or all the compliance in the world will not keep you from being disarmed eventually.
You should put the bolt lever on the left hand side for your pistol bolt actions you make, you know since you use the right hand to hold the pistol grip and the left hand to change rounds anyway.
As I agree that's a great idea I know I would still instinctively use my right hand from all the other bolt guns I have lol it would take some time for me to register its on the left

The logic behind SBR regulation is BS. "Because it's easily concealable.". So is every weapon that's "concealable" need to be regulated? How "concealable" are: Hand guns, knives, hand grenades... HOW ABOUT FENTANYL IT CAN RUB OF AN ADDICT JUST BY SKIN TOUCH. How's THAT for concealment?
Yes! Exactly! There shouldn't be any concept of AOW, SBR, or SBS! They are BS! I should be able to put a stock and a foregrip on my pistol to turn it into a carbine without any hassle, and I'm not talking not those so-called "pistols" because of the dumb laws, but the real pistols we all know! For rifles and shotguns, they shouldn not have any barrel length restriction! Suppressors? They are just another muzzle device! We should be able to buy any of these "NFA items" without any dumb tax stamp, stacks of paperwork, 6-month waiting, and hassle! Yes, machine guns should be more available, too! And I strongly believe that school system should teach kids how to handle firearms safely and have respect for them.
I have an idea. Maybe sell “rifle conversion kits” that includes a stock and a reduced priced 16 inch barrel. Just a suggestion. It would provide proof that people buy the stock are intending to install the 16” barrel first.

The NFA is unconstitutional as applied to individuals. He’s 100% right though. FFL holders don’t have rights anymore per se, as they have contracted with the federal government to be involved in interstate commerce of firearms. The right to keep and bear, shall not be infringed.
That's my argument! TF is wrong with a short barrel, that you need to restrict them? It's still a gun It's still dangerous regardless of length! And no, it's impossible to make the claim of concealment. You can conceal a 16in AR as well!
"why do we have a barrel length requirement" - because in the original draft of the NFA, pistols were included in the list... and ATF (leftover IRS prohibition agents) didnt want people cutting down rifle barrels and creating pistols by circumventing the $200 tax. You, of all people and companies, should be the first to tell ATF to piss off after they tried to screw you over the honey badger when they incorrectly measured length of pull on an angle despite their guidelines clearly stating it is to be measured linear, parallel to the bore. I would love to buy a Q product and especially a 8.6 black out. Why do you make them in 16 inch barrels? You are kind of limiting your customers by not doing that. I would love to buy a Fix or a semi auto in 8.6 but you don't have any.
Took me 11 months to legally register my Honey Badger SBR. So I’m a bit peeved at the 120 days. This new law could have been better thought out. Personally for a couple other guns I have, some will be registered or made compliant. But I’ll still fight legally. And I will keep trying to convince everyone how silly the laws are and hopefully get them changed. Because they will continue to try to ban guns, one step at a time. Educating non gun people is the key.
Good video. Glad you didn’t just throw up your hands and say “Fine, I quit!” It amazes me that as strict as Canada’s laws are, they can have SBRs and we can’t… land of the free, and we cannot have a rifle with barrel shorter than 16”. Makes sense.

I'm not trying to disrespect you guys with this comment, but if we consider the ability to create and distribute firearms "a privilege" then it could be argued that no one has the "right" to manufacture firearms. The second amendment becomes meaningless because "you can own a gun" but no one can make them. Due to the current environment I think that complying is fine, but we should take all legal avenues available until "shall not be infringed" is enforced. I'm glad you guys are participating in that legal fight, but please remember that the right to bear arms begins with the right to manufacture.

It never made sense that we have the right to keep and bear arms, but our government considers it a mere privilege to manufacture and sell them. The uncomfortable end of that trail is a complete ban on all commercial gun making.
