you see the drl stay on, I didn’t want them to stay on so there’s a way where they only turn on when you open the door more of like a welcome light pretty sure you tap it into the door light still thing that way it turns off when the car turns on, neat feature love it
@@SpeedCultureStudios I didn't get the white wire, and in case that I just want to stay on like a welcome light, I shouldn't use the blue wire, or use the blue wire in another connector that lights up with the welcome lights? Thanks, great video! by the way.
Marcelo Silva Your colors might be totally different than mine, so think about them in terms of function rather than color. If you want the welcome light to stay on with the DRLs, you can connect that wire together with the DRL wire and tap then both into the headlights. Then drl and welcome light would be on anytime your head lights are on.
We're about to do a group buy with at least 10 other Infiniti owners, the manufacturer said we would save 20% due to the group buy. Let me know if you want to go in on the group buy with us.
Installed my mirror caps today, the bottom clips broke off on both my old mirror caps but I didn’t need them Anyway. But I kinda had a hard time prying them open and scratched up the actually mirror housing, a little bummed out but it’s not the worst
couldn’t you have put the wires into one side of the harness then just strip the other side? thank you for the video though! installing along the video 🤟
I’m not sure I follow what you’re asking, but yeah I mean you can do anything that works for you as long as you make good connections. This is certainly not the only way.
I have these same lights had them installed by a autobody shop the turn signals work but they aren’t on all the time when it’s dark how can I change that
I plugged everything how you showed it in the video and at the end I tried plugging in the pins into the factory wires but the drls didn’t turn on any advice?
It seems they changed alil since this video. I was watching yours and following along but my wires for the turn signals only are white and black instead of red and black. Ordered from Jalisco as well. I hooked those in and nothing turned on. Contacted him seeing what’s up. Hooking up the rest for the daytime running tmr. The wire colors are different now though.
@@bernyhilario1292 I tried and it did not work. I am in contact with Jalisco waiting for a reply. Don’t waste your time though cause I tried hooking up the day time wiring as well and got nothing.
hey man love your videos and content, getting the SCS exhaust soon. Just curious, would u say the jaliscos are worth the price? debating getting the amazon ones
Hey I just installed them but I getting hyper flash ima buy the resistors but I don’t know what cable I need to connect them too. Do I need to connect the resistors to the red and black cable that goes for the turn signal ?
I installed just the red and black wire for just the turn signal to work. And when i test it out. The light bar does not go all the way through. As in in only blinks up to 4th light bar and then it stops, Any idea why its not functioning right? For 2019 q50 i also bought the front light sequentials and it also does the same thing. So im wondering do i have to install the drl wires as well for it to work properly?
I wired mine like this but the wires inside the mirror cap for the turn signal were white & black. The red & black wires power the puddle lamps but they’re the same length as the ones for the turn signal if that make sense.. so my question is does yours have puddles lamps & where would those go into?
they didn’t lol, i have a black and white wire the has a yellow hazard sticker on it saying don’t connect to power supply those are my turn signals ig, and then i have a separate red and black then a separate brown blue and black
Thanks for this video! In the sunlight how closely do you feel the mirror color matches the color of the car? I assume they are just a generic gloss black from the manufacturer?
That's correct--just generic black. They match quite well because the car is just obsidian black--not the malbec with the speckles--and they are separated enough from the car itself so the eye doesn't get a real side by side comparison to notice a difference.
when you connected the DRL’s from the turn signal lights to come on when the headlights are on, is that only when the headlights ( low beams) are on or when the daytime running lights from the headlights are on?
How do you know which wires to tap into? Which wires did you tap into? Does the drls come in with the headlights or are they on with the regular drls that comes on the car?
Hey man, this is off topic of this vid but i've seen most of yours over the years, and a big fan. In regards to the front bumper drl and turn signals... I installed mine, but when I connect to power the signals hyperflash (this being outside the window movement) and i did not get from JR lights, but from SmartAuto. I've tried tapping various wires (currently same as yours to the front emblem, which connects to always on module, pink wire for headlights. And load resistors - just a pain. I am trying to take an easier way out and replace the OEM turn signal relay with a LED signal relay. My problem is, there is no video I can find or resource that easily identifies where our 3.7 signal relay is located. I contacted the vendor and they ensured me it's under the steering column, which I cannot find. I'm trying to locate so I can unplug and identify the correct pin allocation for the led relay. Do you know where this is? Much frustration would be relieved if you could help me out - much appreciated!
You’ll just need resistors. Tap into the same wires that you are current getting with the hyper flash but put the resistor between inline between the light and the power supply wire. Maybe shoot jr lights and see if he can get you a couple of them. He usually includes them with the signals so I’m guessing he has some on hand
@@SpeedCultureStudios Thanks, I have the resistors and have tried tapping it into the power line and ground. Maybe I need to do actually use both. If this continues to not work, do you know where I can locate the flasher relay?
Quick question, this might sound dumb but do you have to do the whole wiring process on the other side also? Or can you just plug it in like how you showed at the start and the drls will work by themselves because it’s connected to the Daytime running lights already.
Have you had issues with the remote not locking the front doors since this install? I realized shortly after I did mine that the remote doesn’t lock front doors now.
So I’m planning on installing these tomorrow but I only want the turn signal sequential and don’t care about the puddle light or DTRL… those cables are attached already to the lights… what would you recommend me to do? I plan on trading my Q50 in about a year for a q60 so I’ll end up taking these lights off and installing them on the Q60… what do you recommend me to do with the extra wires?
I’ve wanted to for awhile, but reviews of them are horrible with bad fitment issues. I thought about getting them anyway to see if I can come up with a solution. Stay tuned
hey man i installed my sequintials and they were working just fine for 15 min then stopped working n suddenly my window won’t roll automatically up it will roll in segments , going crazy right now hoping for a fast reply 😂
Yes there is a little resistor that can be placed inline between the light and the power source and that will eliminate the the hyper flash. Check in with @jr_lights on IG. He may have some to sell individually.
couldn’t you tap the dlr lights into the red and black stripe wire that you connected the turn signal light into? rather than taking the door card off and running it into the cab?
@@SpeedCultureStudios perfect 👌 When you connect them to the headlights will they stay turned on all the time when using the car ? Or only when headlights turn on automatically during night
@@BRYAN-uh7ge Where are you accessing the headlight wire from the mirror? But if you truly are connecting to the headlights, they will turn on when the head lights turn on. If you connect to the DRL, they will be on with the DRL.
No, I did not connect the white white which is the puddle lights. The car already has a puddle light under the handle and the Infiniti logos under the doors so another light wasn’t necessary to me. You can tie it in with the DRLs if you want them on all the time, you can tap them into the same wire that powers the puddle lights for the handle.
@@SpeedCultureStudios Awesome. Do you know if that wire is going to be in that same harness you tapped in to? Or am I going to have to look for another power source?
GTiRSmiley my feeling is that it has to be in there, but most I’ve seen tap into a different location behind that plate. I’d have to find a diagram or just get the test light out and check for power only when the unlock button is hit or something.
Speed Culture Studios so could I leave the blue and white wire tapped into how you have it and have the white wire (the puddle light) to the brown wire behind the metal plate on the door?
Qfifty 2014 yes-I cant remember the color of the wire you need to tap into behind the plate, but yes, that should get you the puddle light that comes on when you approach/unlock the car
Mine did not-I can’t say for certain whether or not other trim levels did. For the right amount of money anything can be done, but there are sensors and wiring involved, so I would imagine it’s quite complex to set that up in a vehicle that was not originally equipped
Hey does anyone know about the legality of having these DRL's on all the time at night? Especially in the streets of CA? Could they be considered side markers?
Need ur help, I got mr driver side connected I did it for it to be on all the time. 16q50s I have black blue and white wires, for some reason i don’t have power at my purple wire the same wire you tapped into for power I found power at the connector for the side mirror but not getting drl only getting turn signal
@@SpeedCultureStudios as some who is just beginning DIY anything lol ... what do you recommend is a good ratchet set or other tools to start with in the garage ?
@@bstr8upballa it really depends on your budget, but my parents got me a 150pc ratchet and wrench set for Christmas my first year living on my own and I’ve had that set with me for over 15 years now. It’s a great set to get you started and inexpensive. Check out my amazon store-I have a tool/garage section that lists some good stuff!!
@@SpeedCultureStudios Im in the harbor Freight price range haha!! I’d rather have what I need then try a project and have to keep running out for tools ...
@@SpeedCultureStudios I just tried to install them on my car and the fitment was horrible. I had to grind down the back of the light and it still did not fit right. Trying to get my money back as we speak.
@@genarorenteria3627 what do you mean “these.” Are you saying you have some from eBay? Mine were from amazon, but yes they probably come from the same place.
@@SpeedCultureStudios i just bought a pair, been watching since the beginning of your build. Finally got my q50 this year excited to get the build started! Getting your exhaust soon hopefully
I added the turn signals about 4 months ago. There is a okay DIY video for the turn siangels but its crap when you wanna hook up the puddle light. I'm still trying to figure it out lol. My next step is the bumper turn signal to make the DRL's and sequential like the ones on my mirror.
You should. I'm getting tired of trying to figure it out. It's slowly getting on my nerves. Makes it like like a unfinished project or half assed project.
Has anyone had any issues with these turn signals? Or the way it’s wired? I installed them identical to how he did it in the video and I noticed my battery dies after sitting for a week. Cars only 3 years old with original battery still in the car. Got the battery tested and was at 54% health and starter and alternator is fine too.
Speed Culture Studios I thought that I check that but it was fine one thing tho my battery is low where it won’t start car allows me to put it in accessory mode
I did not wire in the puddle lights. I didn't want them. I don't recall which wire in the harness is for the puddle lights, but you can trace it and connect it if you'd like it.
I don’t have a link to them specifically because they are basically made to order if they don’t have a set on hand but you can reach out to Motorsports LA and let them know I sent you!
@@Awsometiger1011 you have to remove the small plate on the inner portion of the door to access the wire that operates the small lights under the door handles. I can't remember what the color of the wire is off the top of my head.
