GREAT SONG CHOICE and yes the woman next to her is her mother and NO SHE DOSEN'T RESCUE HER She stops her from singing because she wants the boy to sing, that is what makes the girl sad and why does the mother stop her you'll have to watch the movie for that as there is a lot of context. all i can say is that the movie explores the EXTREMELY COMPLEX relationship between mother and daughter. but watch the movieeee it's FRIGGIN AMAZIINGGGG

Qala is a good movie based on music - all songs are excellent and based on different genres of Indian music. Every scene is an art, every colour composition speaks volumes of the characters - the movie is a must watch

The song is a great listening experience, not sure if it's a good reacting experience 😅. And yes the actual song is much longer. The soundtrack is to die for. Haven't watched the movie yet, but I have heard great things about it so if you can find time it's worth checking it out.

Hahaha..i can’t believe u guys thought she stopped coz she forgot the lyrics..Thats not at all what actually happened..U should watch this movie jimmy..Its very layered with metaphors and imagery..U will find shades of whiplash and black swan in the movie..And the music is just fabulous..Probably the best album to come out of bollywood in last 4-5 years..

Great movie if you are a pure lover of cinema. Cinematography, colour grading, art direction, frames/angles and even performances are top notch. Since you follow indian cinema very closely, how come you haven't seen this? The story isn't for everybody (gender discrimination) but this is a must watch for its sheer artistic fervour. It should be a priority.

This movie is based on parents pleasing. And the mother stops her daughter in between and ask the adopted son to sing cause she wanted him to be a famous singer.
