This story hit home. Felt so relatable, as a daughter I am always competing for attention from my mother, and end up losing against my brother. This angle of mother-daughter relationship needs to be explored. Because it is very much real!
Watched Qala.. Movie was good... But there is a Telugu movie named "Swathi Kiranam" With similar concept and story line released in 1992 itself..i think it was way more risky to pick such concepts then..it is directed by legendary telugu director k. Viswanath... Please watch sucharita...
Interview was so good... I could see you wanted to talk more but due to time constraints could not... Even I loved the film so much. Just see if you could also interview the people related to the music and the songs of this film, they just give goosebumps while you feel them on film, are so good but at same time have an eerie sense to them, emotional and perfect.
Arre yaar, Sucharita, it ended too soon. Please arrange a part 2. Qala is such an important movie and I want you to dissect it more with the team. I am still in awe... 👏👏👏👏 Thank you for this interview. ⭐
I am obsessed with this creation ,the story, the music, the dialogue ,the art...all of it. Such vulnerability!!I am already a major fan of Varun Grover and Swastika M but I also enjoyed Tripti and Babil so so much!!!! Great of you to have brought all of them together, will be waiting for an interview with the lyricists ,musicians and other creators of the story. So thankful Anvita exists in Bollywood!!!
I finished watching it last night and I'm still not over it, that is how impactful this film is. I was thinking about it all day and constantly humming it's STUNNING songs. The film was ethereal, haunting in places and all in all, DIVINE. Amit Trivedi absolutely hit the ball out of the park and same goes for Anvita Dutt. The cast was impeccable, Tripti is truly mesmerizing and so so talented. This film will stay with me for a really long time, perhaps forever.
Obsessed with the movie, obsessed with the characters, obsessed with the songs, obsessed with the cast, obsessed with the depth of the concept n its execution n forever obsessed with su4ita❤️
omg! I wanted this interview to go on and on! I could pick Anvita's brain probably for hours trying to know her thought process of the minute details of the film. Even all the small characters... Also, did Varun Grover kill it or not!
Whatta beautiful movie it is and what an interesting interview it has been man! Love you su4ita for gifting us with sucha detailed interview of the stellar cast. P.S. I loved the school teacher-student bond of yours and swastika’s 🤣❤️
Lmao not Swastika and Anvitaa audibly exhaling when it was said that it was a spoiler filled chat. Then again, it’s very difficult to be tactful with spoilers 24/7.
Watched this movie..beyond brilliant..after Bulbull..really a great accomplishment..big thanks to Team #Qala and for sure..we are awaiting for more content like this..for sure a revolutionary step in Indian film industry.
Loved this movie and showed me a mirror as a mom. I agree with Swastika for no judgement as I don’t want people or my kids to judge me when I want them do to best! It broke me emotionally however it was soothing my soul with music and beautiful frames. Is it even possible? One hand music n visuals are soothing you n content is breaking you n killing your soul?
Loved the movie, it was like poetry in motion. I do have one gripe with the movie I think they could have done better job of depicting music in a accurate way for instance Urmila clapping completely off beat that too on an alaap opening, or Jagan hitting high note without even throat muscles working for that note - For movie this great I would have liked music world building to be more precise. None the less Great movie.
I believe he knew......he left the brooch pin on her blanket as a sign to her that he is leaving....it was a conscious decision, he didn't give any sign to urmila. Kind of fully handing over his life for her to live.
@@ananyaaa401 even qala was not that venomous ,she might have thought by using mercury she could outdo babil's character in that night ,that is it. But to her utter ignorance ,that took his voice completely that is what continued regretting through out her journey that her progress as a person had to go through someone's death whom she didn't intend to hurt as the action that she did led to .. hence that guilt created a mental trauma inside her which went on a domino effect which led to her suicide ,also she believed that after babil's voice loss ,her mother might start liking her for her singing but her mother kept distancing her from herself and tried to stop her to go to Kolkata for furthering her music career as deep down her mother also knew if she will go there ,she might fall in prey of a male dominated society which her mother in her young age must have experienced , .. that is why she always told her tum ladki ho gaana nahi. Gaa sakti bhari mahol mein ..such a beautiful movie 🍿🍿🍿 I loved it the best movie i have seen and the phero na Nazar se nazariya song was something else
@@satanicomic yeah i never meant that qala was a bad person. it was definitely her mother's lack of affection towards her which drove her to doing what she did. and you're right, i don't think her intentions were bad at all. her mother was just plain & simple pathetic. but qala's deeds are in a bit of a gray area for me, like, i understand where she came from but it was still a fucked up thing to do. this dilemma really has me vexed haha. this film truly is a masterpiece in every aspect, what brilliant artistry! and phero na nazariya is my favorite as well! i do love the attention that shaunq is getting, but i think phero na nazariya & rubaiyaan are even better!
@@ItsMe_Sam Yes I want her to perform good in mainstream but also come back to these content driven roles too. Also , won't it be amazing if she does one more movie with Anvita. It could be like a Fantastical Feminist Trilogy. That would be so awesome
I see Anvita Dutt.. and her face shows.. yes all the actors understood what exactly what I wanted to show! Btw! Great interview. And loved the film! Its a must watch for most of the women. It hits home at so many levels!
Why no one's talking about the character Sanyal? Was urmila really trying to woo him for jagan or did she really like him? Why did jagan say that she was behaving like that way so that he could get a chance to be in the film industry? Did he mean it?
Im sorry but the movie was overrated. Forcing itself to prove a point or points rather. Dialogues were too contemporary. And Qala could read Urdu but not pronounce it properly and Majrooh had to correct her…..like seriously???? As an Urdu speaker i can say for sure that is just not possible Furthermore, it should be ‘Kala’ not ‘qala’ since Q has a different pronounciation. But the Q is forced in the title to make it the female symbol.
Yes the film was a slow, simple and predictable but the music, the acting and some profound dialogues make it worth the watch. Anyone who knows how to read a language might not pronounce it as a native does. In that time period urdu was the medium of instruction so eventhough she can read urdu she is still a girl from himachal and would have her accent.
It is a well-intentioned film but tries to say and do too many things. The end result is a very confusing film that neither entertains nor satisfies the viewers.
