A special visitor yesterday was the arrival of this Qatar Amiri Flight Airbus A330-220 A7-HHM with some members of the Qatar Royal Family, arriving from France at Newcastle Airport on Sunday the 11th of August 2024.

Superb video mate, wonder why the gear came down so early. Stunning aircraft

Superb! I watched the live stream. Gear down early will help in slowing the aircraft and I don’t think it was particularly early. Important to get everything configured early at a runway with 2330m length, especially a wide body…. At an airfield the pilots probably haven’t landed at before. Living here and watching approaches regularly, it was a great sight to see on this channel. I’m only a viewer and Simmer, not real pilot but I love anything like this, I wish I could have been there to see this A330 at Newcastle.😊

More than likely to slow the aircraft down as they were turning onto final. Seen it happen with quite a few heavies over the years, the Abu Dhabi 777s and others. Amazing t see this, thanks so much mate.
