Thanks. I'm using Logic Pro, but the DAW shouldn't really matter. Can I set the "unit gain" position of my faders? I mean, I want to set my faders so when I put them on the long tick mark 2nd from the top, my DAW is set to unity gain. Is this possible?

I don't believe there is any specific option to be able to do this although it may be that with a little trial and error you might be able to approximate it. To be honest I haven't found any particularly useful official guides to all this which is why I decided to do my best with some rather unscientific experiments in this video to find out what happens when you try different things. You can't break anything so try out some settings and if it doesn't work just put it back to how it was.

Does anyone know how to do this with the pan rotor knobs? I have to spin it like crazy to turn the pan left or right.. Thx!

I know it can be a bit of a pain. One thing you could try is briefly swapping the rotary controls for the faders while you are panning but that may be a bit cumbersome. Anyway see about 4 mins in on the link below for that function ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JH7XmJ_NoIw.htmlsi=TtcBrAYgLr75lhzG

Thanks so much for this. I just got an XS to go with the main unit and it had really slow laggy faders. I was worried I would have to send it back. When I checked it was set at 185 on all faders, so I dropped it to 150 to match the main unit and now it is fine :)

Hi Ryan. That's great news. It's all a bit trial and error but I'm really glad the video helped.

Hi! I’m a new proX user. Your videos are very useful, thanks. My question: If the daw project (Cubase 10.5) is 12 db the fader will be too “short”. If I switch 6 db the fader motor pull back on top. Can I change the fader measure for full range use? (Sorry for my poor english) :-)

The settings for your mixer in Cubase should automatically adjust to the full length of the fader on your Pro X whatever db range you have it set to. If it doesn't track correctly then you may need to drop the calibration number for each channel to correct this. Try moving your faders in Cubase with your mouse to see if they are moving top to bottom. I have never had a problem with this in Cubase 10.5 so I hope it will work ok for you too.

Hi, Darren.. Thanks for making this video. It's great. I have a question, hopefully you could shed some light on this for me. How do I stop the faders from knocking when in standby. There seems to be constantan micro glitches from my faders (but faders not visibly moving) and no matter how I change the parameters in the calibration phase I cannot stop it from happening. Where am I going wrong? Also when changing the Fader touch sensitivity turning off the unit does not save the setting I made. Possibly a bad unit? Best, Jamie.

Hi there. So I know exactly what you mean about the clicking or tapping sound because my Pro X also does that. I actually got my unit at a reduced cost as it was a display model. I contacted Qcon, went on the forums and their only advice seemed to be update the firmware. I never got any further with them and it has never changed. My extender is fine. I have mentioned this in a previous video and decided that it was such a low level sound that it didn't cause me any problems. If it's a deal breaker for you and you've paid full price you are well within your rights to request a replacement that doesn't tick. As for your other issue if you are doing the fader calibration (as opposed to fader sensitivity) then you must press the channel 8 rotary pot when you finish to save your settings before powering down (see about 9.15 on the video). You should see a settings saved message pop up. If this doesn't work then again this may point to a physical fault. But do make sure you are on the latest firmware for your particular unit too. Good luck and thanks for watching.
