In Solidarity with the people of Ukraine, the QCSO joined ensembles around the world in performing "Shche ne vmerla Ukrainy i slava, i volia" ( 'Glory and Freedom of Ukraine Has Not Yet Perished'), the Ukrainian National Anthem at the start of our Masterworks V Performances on March 5 & 6, 2022.
The QCSO's tradition of playing The Star-Spangled Banner at the start of each performance began immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Those in attendance rose to sing the lyrics in patriotic fervor. It immediately became a fixture at all future concerts, accompanied by audience participation with every crisp rendition.

The stereo audio channels are reversed. The cymbal are on the right edge of the stage but it's hard left in the audio. Flute is centre left on stage but right in the audio etc.

Former member of QCYSO, and this video was a blissful but pleasant surprise for me. In fact it brought me to tears. I have a friend in Ukraine who is very dear to me, whom I have not heard from since the Tuesday before the invasion. I fear the worst, and this really brought some peace to my heart and soul. Art and classical music ispowerless against a man possessed by madness like Putin or Hitlar But I sincerely hope that classical music will soften and extinguish the madness
