I'm honestly most impressed by you getting the name right every single time you say it. To me it all just sounds like a mouthful of letters and numbers with just the last letter distinguishing the product.
Like every other Monitor-Brand, the letters are choosen completly logical/meaningful, too --> So its relatively easy. AW = Alienware 34 = 34" diagonal 23 = for year 2023/Generation D = "Dual" HD for 1440p W = "Wide" for Ultrawide F = FreeSync-Version
In my opinion they should just keep adding characters. Like G for "glossy", ∆ for "triangle RGB", then maybe just arbitrarily decide π°-2 means "178 degree viewing angle" and add that to the name etc.
Please do a review of the Samsung g8 oled. Just received mine and considering sending it back as the picture quality is terrible compared to my lg c2 42. Would love to see what an expert thinks seeing as there are no reviews or picture setting tutorials available
@@MKR3238 whites are yellowish, colour in typical Samsung completely bloated. In desktop mode the picture is okay and even games looks better but you stuck at 120hz refresh. In game mode to get full 175hz refresh picture quality in general sucks unless you sharpen the picture into obvilion creating its own issues. When it comes to picture quality the lg c2 42 standing next to it pisses all over it. I knew it would be better being 4k and 3 times the peak brightness but considering the Samsung cost £500 more im really disappointed
Its the same panel, so differences only come from firmware and the hardware. Like cooling, fan, psu... Dell uses the Samsung panel and its the only 34" oled panel on the market.
I Got also the ich G8 OLED and sold it because all the smart TV stuff was very slow and it is more a TV than a monitor. But it got 144hz 10bit, USB-C…I am happy with the DWF

@@CalasTyphos This is true with an asterisk, yes. Out of the box, at 3440x1440 resolution, only 60/100/165 Hz refresh rate modes are shown in display settings. 165 Hz only does 8 bit color with dithering, 100 Hz does 10 bit color. Supposedly, setting a custom resolution can allow the monitor to run at 157 Hz and use 10 bit color (haven't tried it myself).
Yeah ive been gaming on mine since July DW ofc and ithese monitors are just great. I can't see myself upgrading until at least the warranty runs out in 3 years
The community over on Reddit has been a bit confused about how this monitor behaves compared to the DW for AMD vs Nvidia users specifically for HDR. The source tone mapping option doesn't show up for AMD GPUs while it does for Nvidia GPUs, but that maybe seems to be because it's always on by default for AMD GPUs? I know it's unlikely, but it'd be lovely to have some sort of follow-up from an experienced reviewer on whether there are differences noticeable in the behavior of the monitor when using one GPU brand over the other. Every big review I've seen appears to use Nvidia.
I believe this is because on AMD it uses FreeSync Premium which already does source side tone mapping in supported apps/games. For what it's worth I primarily test on an AMD GPU, but B roll is captured in an Nvidia GPU. It looks pretty similar but can't say I did in depth AMD vs Nvidia testing
This monitor with an AMD GPU is using it's AMDs own version of source tone mapping, which is supposed to be superior to the option, which is why it's grayed out. He reviewed using an AMD GPU and EOTF is still garbage and ppl confirmed it still clips early so not dynamic tone mapping like the AWs HDR 1000 mode either. Seems like HDR is borked on this monitor.
@@s1aver1 Isn't the clipping the entire point? It shouldn't be dynamic tone mapping. I imagine as a console option it's there so you can actually use the ps5 and xbox hdr calibration with the monitor and would work like the hgig option on lg tvs. And from what i've seen people are saying the source option fixes issues with hdr for them.
@@BugLondon Dynamic tone mapping is probably the wrong term. If you use the PC equivalent the Windows HDR Calibration app the the DW(HDR 1000) calibrates to 1000 nits as you'd expect but the DWF(no matter what you do) to 500nits this likely due to the overly bright EOTF tracking. So you are forced to choose between overly compressed range or clipping(if you just set it to 1000 anyways). The DW adjusts EOTF rolloff based on MaxCLL metadata I don't believe the DWF does this. Also adjusts EOTF rolloff based on and based on % Window to prioritizes preserving highlight detail where as the APL on the DWF in HDR 1000 seems more aggressive than Trueblack 400, which given the the panels limitations doesn't make sense for an HDR 1000 mode.
@@s1aver1 i have seen people say the get the windows hdr calibration close to 1000 with different contrast settings. From what i have seen from samdung displays and their tendencies toward intentional overbrightening there has always been ways to impact the eotf with some user settings as well. although having an accurate picture mode is preferable anyway.
Dell just released a FW update (M3B103) for the AW3423DWF that should fix the HDR issue ! It would be really interesting to do a revisit of this monitor with the new firmware.
Thank you! I was browsing the comments to see if this issue has been addressed since the video is 3 months old at this point. Looks like I’ll be going with the DWF model for my new PC. Thanks again!
Very happy with my DW. Considering I came from VA. The panel looks gorgeous and sooooo clean! Most of these things you find I don't even realise being the average gamer and all. For racing Sims the monitor is phenomenal as high speed stuff is very clean!
It's what i'm waiting for as well. But it's very unlikely. You can expect 32 inch 4k Oled in Q2 2024, maybe even later. There are mamy technical issues to be solved.
Thank you for giving feedback to Dell. Hopefully they actually fix the HDR performance issues as my DWF that I got this week has awfully blown out HDR performance to where its unusable. However, I did buy the panel for its other strong points and I mainly game SDR 99% of the time anyways. I am not sure why the 10-bit colour restriction got a shrug off tho tbh. If the DW can do 10-bit at 144Hz then why on earth is the DWF lacking here. Manual timings seem to work via nvidia control panel but I can not get manual timings to work with AMDs software. It keeps calculating the G. Pixel Clock wrong, which then throws timing total off. Either or excellent review I am relieved about my purchase especially now we know the DWF is king of total input lag!
@@vertigo_one The most probable reason. Though some lad got the 10-bit on DWF all the way to 157 hz with manual timings. Posted all the info on Reddit too, shouldn't be hard to google it.
DWF is superior in every way, from idle power to having no issues regarding the GSYNC module adding noise, latency, etc... plus it's cheaper. It is an upgrade in every way. Nice!
One HUGE difference which has been missed here is that the original DW which I own can't receive a 4k signal from media devices like the Fire Stick. Because Amazon and Disney don't support HDR 4k content in the browser you are literally unable to watch any content from them in HDR on your incredible HDR monitor... But I heard that this isn't an issue on the DWF?
I personally took the leap on this when the DWF dropped going along with my new 12GB 3080 build. Its absolutely stunning to game on, and worth the money. I also work from home and use it all day for productivity work. Its honestly been great for that too. The 3 year warranty really helped me take the plunge.
@@Daniels656993 Yeah it's pretty much 3K monitor. I know they'll improve but I'm trying to get an idea of what it's like. Will I hit the 157 friends per 2nd so I can run the 10 bit color as well. Or will it be less. I'm trying to decide if I want to switch to ultra wide now or if I want to wait until the next generation of video cards say the 5080 or 5090 Then switch to a super ultra wide or an Oled 4K. I can get a refurbished alien wear for like $900 or by 1200 brand new my 4K monitor still sells for like 12 to $1400. So I just wanna know is it worth switching or should I just wait. How maybe even saw my 3080 and get A4090 when they come back in stock in a few months
@@selynar4889 Framerates are great for me personally. A lot of MW2 recently, and with a lot of things maxed, I'm always over 120 FPS, and hit 140 to 150 FPS on some smaller maps. My only target personally is 120 FPS, everything else is just gravy. But anything over 100 FPS requires 8 bit color. You'd be hard pressed to notice the difference between 8 and 10 bit color without measuring it.
I'm all about dat quality gaming and productivity work. I ain't no stranger to dropping a little cash for the best setup, and it sounds like you made a smart move with that 3080 build and one of those monitors. @@jamesmadison3108 mate you don’t know what you are talking about or you ve never had a g sync screen before. The dw offers flawless gaming experience whereas the dwf stutters tears and has worse colours in hdr both 400 and 1000. It’s just garbage and Nvidia people should get the dw if they want the best experience. Actually, get both and see for yourself how trash the dwf is compared to dw lol.
I'm normally a massive proponent of the Gsync module in LCD monitors due to Nvidia's excellent implementation of variable overdrive. I never see any ghosting or inverse ghosting on my AG273QG largely because it can switch overdrive modes depending on what I'm playing. However, I've decided to upgrade to this monitor over the variant with a Gsync module because you don't need overdrive on OLED monitors.
@@AR-ke8wg its monitory by monitor cases - hardware g-sync module don't have anything to do with it other then hardware g-sync also mean certification that test for it. You can have great VRR is both cases but lack of certification in vesa vrr mean a bit more wild vest. I will say it again - its certification not hardware, so if nvidia or someone makes certification without hardware it would have similiar value.
@Markalot284 Yes, Nvidia cards (Pascal aka 10 series and newer) are compatible with all "Freesync" monitors since a driver update in 2019 (or so). The ones conforming to Nvidia requirements are called "G-SYNC-Compatible," but all "Freesync" monitors work. The function can be activated in the Nvidia control panel.
Great review. I always come back for what I believe is the most important part of any monitor review: the input lag tests. Far too many reviewers leave that out, and it’s really hard to take their reviews even remotely seriously. I’d love it if you guys would review the new ASUS 1440p 360 Hz or Zowie 1080p 360 Hz.
This is the holy grail I've been waiting for. I've tried and returned several OLEDs since the 48" C1, but I have decided 4k 32" OLED, non-widescreen is what I am waiting for. Here's hoping 2023 is the year they make one.
@@JohnDowis Never had any of these displays as they simply dont fit on my desk, and are to big anyhow for my liking. Hence why i just wait for a regular 32inch 4K screen.
Great review! I picked up the DW based on your review and I'm super impressed. I always went with the DWF but I heard there was some HDR weirdness and I also liked the lower VRR range with Gsync Ultimate and the white/black color scheme. Can't go wrong with either.
@@glitch2998 Still have it and love it. No issues, perfect out of the box. No marks on the screen from bubble wrap. It's tremendous quality and feel from the base to the panel. The only thing you have to get used to is the ultrawide format and get some addons that will crop to the screen if you want. I find that movies scale nicely, especially ones that were made with UWS in mind and videogames. RU-vid is hit or miss since most stuff is 16:9. You can still zoom in but most of the time I don't since I want to see everything. Go with the DW as the DWF still has HDR accuracy issues. As for gaming this screen is god like. In HDR everything gets so damn bright it puts my LG CX OLED to shame. Best gaming upgade I've done since buying my LG CX for my PS5/Series X.
@@KarnageKollectibles how is the fan noise on your DW? I’ve heard some say they hear it/can be loud, and others say inaudible. Maybe the loud fans were from the early adopters? The audible fan noise (if applicable to newer DWs) and worse input lag makes me want to go with the DWF, but the worse HDR makes me want the DW!
@@Kyler_97 I have never heard the fan. That was one thing that put me off from it but I figured if it wasn't as loud as my PC then it wouldn't be a big deal. I do wear headphones a lot so that might play into it a bit but my PC and PS5 are way louder than anything else that I hear. My PC isn't that loud either. It's just above ambient room noise unless I'm playing a game. I've heard some people say that every monitor is different when it comes to fan noise but I think it's more down to how quiet the room they are in is. TL:DR. It's a complete non issue. Other than the price, this monitor is damn near perfect IMO. I upgraded from a 27" LG GL850-B.
are you aware that dell is shipping the dw and dwf in such an awful way that leaves smudges or many hairline scratches on every monitor? instead of shipping the monitor with that plastic peel thing like samsung does. you should warn viewers who are not aware of that, cuz buying the alienware is a gamble.
@@Melontheyoutuber True. I have bought the DW precisely to get GSYNC because it can keep in sync with the monitor down to 1 Hz. I think the non-GSYNC models are limited to 48 FPS minimum.
@@CTSpartan yeah, I have an RTX 4090 and I don’t just play games on it. Being able to support lower GSYNC refresh rates is useful when working with complex Blender scenes and also editing 24 FPS film content
I'm glad I got the DW based on the hdr eotf curve. I've enjoyed the more accurate hdr presentation compared to my old X27. I was concerned about the fringing from the subpixel array but it turned out I don't notice it unless I REALLY try to look for it.
@@selynar4889 The reduction in pixel density wasn't as bad as I was worried about thankfully. I think the higher contrast of the OLED makes the text look sharper than you'd expect. I do not notice the fringing (as I said before) either which is good. It's not quite as crisp as 4k obviously. But Id say I think it's better than 1440p, though I've not used a 1440p display in a while. Colors are just amazing on it, though it took a little adjusting, the QDOLED is more accurate than the X27 in hdr (my color meter won't do HDR so I can't calibrate in hdr, only SDR) the end result can appear "flatter" to your eyes at first because it's a more accurate and less oversaturated presentation, this coupled with an overall lower average screen brightness in HDR can be a bit flat looking at first, go play a few games though and you'll realize it's a much better experience. Small highlights have more impact due to the per pixel lighting, details and bright areaa are "crisper" because there's no blooming from the dimming zones. Dark games like Darktide are absolutely stunningly beautiful even without HDR. I played one of the opening missions in Cyberpunk and the police car headlights during one of the background stories were literally dazzlingly bright. The tree in Elden Ring is magnificent, Overwatch 2 is smooth as butter and has very vivid colors. Mw2 looks gritty and real with stuff like overhead lights being very bright when you look up at them. I'm also a photographer who does photo editing on it and the color accuracy is fantastic for creative work as well. In my dark room the Alienware is way less fatiguing than the X27 in HDR and has a way better presentation due to the complete lack of blooming. In SDR there's no contest the Alienware just flat out wins because of the infinite contrast ratio. Motion is buttery smooth as well and you can easily hit 175hz with a decently capable GPU in lots of titles. I absolutely loved my X27 mind you and think it's one of the best LCDs you could get, but the Alienware is just better in every way.
tearing is less of an issue at low fps with a high hz monitor. and if you're going to spend $200 more on a sub 60fps adaptive sync module, maybe just spend $200 more on a better gpu?
Bought the dwf upon release. While it has no audible fan noise to me, my monitor had a significant amount of coil whine stemming from where the processor is located close to the top right part of the monitor. Noticed it immediately when working in a quiet room. Seems to be a wide spread issue but only noticeable to those with sensitive hearing. Seems like it is back to the 3821dw for me, which sucks because the oled screen itself is amazing.
The newer Freesync model AW3423DWF out of the box has a problem with HDR in games where black/very dark areas are actually grey and desaturated/washed out in color. I noticed the issue first in Resident Evil Village, and just recently again in Borderlands 3. You can work around the game HDR blacks-are-grey issue by using the monitor's on-screen display settings, go under Game, turn Console Mode ON, then under the same Console Mode setting, turn Source Tone Map ON. My brother has the older AW3423DW model and his monitor did not have this problem.
@@RingTalks Might be hardware specific. I'm running an RTX 3070 with 5800X3D. For both games, the HDR looks great when the scene is well lit. I didn't notice anything off until I was looking at low-light textures indoors. For Resident Evil Village, I first noticed the issue during the first bit of gameplay in Ethan Winters' house, while you walk around the place holding the baby. Looking into the glass cabinets, instead of seeing the wooden texture behind the glass, I saw patches of grey. The first save point inside the church also had this kind of grey pattern where I expected to see dimly lit wood textures. In Borderlands 3, I saw this effect going on in pretty much every corner of a building, where the light was dimmest. Interestingly, using Win+Shift+S keyboard shortcut to take screenshots reverted the image (temporarily, for the screenshot) back to SDR, where the textures and color were returned to normal. Playing either game in SDR did not have this issue. I tried changing between 8 bit color with dithering and 10 bit color, updated graphics drivers, updated to Windows 11 (hoping the auto HDR would fix this issue. It didn't, would also have the same problem), disabling Gsync, disconnecting my second monitor, etc. Nothing fixed the HDR blacks in-game until I stumbled upon a reddit thread where someone said Console Mode + Source Tone Map fixed their issue: www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/yw1ekw/hdr_issues_with_new_aw3423dwf/ I'm definitely not alone with this problem.
Seriously considering picking up the DWF on sale do $699 right now. Not sure if there is anything out there than can compete at that price. I hate that it doesn’t have better hdmi inputs, usb c, and no KVM switch capabilities. The other one I’m looking at is the Sell Ultrasharp 34” that I can get for about $780. It does have a better hub with KVM and daisy chaining. But it won’t be as good as this for gaming. Decisions! Then I think, at that price point, maybe I can get a bigger ultrawide. Analysis paralysis. Any advice?

I (and a lot of other people) hit an issue in HDR where dark tones would be severely washed out unless we put the monitor in Console Mode and enabled Source Tone Mapping; did you notice this ever, and what GPU did you use while testing? (One theory going around is that only Nvidia cards experience the severe wash out issue)
I had this issue (though I'm using DW not DWF) in RE village, 4090 + 5600x. I don't have the source tone mapping option, but changing to 10 bit 144hz and hdr auto off worked for me.
I have not had any washed out issues on my 6800XT with or without console mode (source tone mapping is always greyed out), but I have only played cyberpunk and monster hunter rise.
in germany the Odyssey g8 oled was available for a short time and i got my hands on it with a student discount and a free 2tb ssd and man that monitor is a clear 10/10, before that i had the dw but the fan noise was ridiculous. and I've heard the dwf still has 1 fan and annoying coil whine (due to the psu being in the monitor). the Odyssey g8 oled doesn't have a fan and the psu is external so no coil whine, the g8 even came with a protective cover which i haven't even removed, it's really well attached with no bubbles etc. 👍(this also prevented the scratching problem that the dell monitors suffer from) and the hdr performance is astonishing. the inclusion of a remote and pretty much smart tv features are a welcome addition. for example you can update the firmware via wifi... i hope this helps somebody who's thinking about buying an oled monitor. edit : oh yeah it has rgb too :D it can sync with what's on the display, however it is a bit laggy, so the colours need like half a second to match what's on the screen, i hope a software update will fix that, also for anyone interested i paid 1350 euros, sold the 2tb ssd for 150 so that's 1200 for the monitor and the dwf costs 1100 here. also remembered the g8 can do 175hz 10bit no problem, i hope hardware unboxed will review it soon as it's a damn interesting monitor compared to the dell
With the DWF having issues with HDR and the lower refresh rate at 10bit. might as well go out and buy an open box DW for the same price as a new DWF. IMHO.
If I remember correctly Jay did a video on the new-ish consumer electronic power laws and found that G-sync monitors (at least all of the ones he had) idled at a much higher wattage than the others(even the freesync ones)
I didn't even know about this until one of the people at Chips and Cheese mentioned this was true of anything with a G-sync module because apparently they don't power down and since they're an FPGA they use way more power than a specialized chip would.
Still no regrets with the DW since I've used it for so long, the fan noise is annoying at times. Other than that, can't go back to a matte coating anymore, glossy simply looks much better. I even swapped out my secondary monitor to a 16in OLED from Asus, once going OLED, can't go back!

Something I noticed on the AW3423DW using HDR in windows 10 vs windows 11 in Halo Infinite. For some reason the input latency was higher in windows 10 using HDR where I couldn't hit my targets due to the input lag. Though with HDR turned off the input lag was quick and responsive. Coming from a Samsung G7 240hz I know what low input lag should feel like. In windows 11 with HDR turned on the input lag felt just as good as the G7. Just curious what OS HUB used when measuring input latency on the AW3423DW?
Can you do a deep dive into Freesync vs G-sync in monitors using the same Panel. I feel that G-sync panels show more fluid frames if you are using nvidia card . On my freesync monitor a AMD card feels much more fluid than my much powerful nvidia card .
I've had the DWF for a few weeks now and I love it. It's crazy how responsive this monitor is over my old LCD monitor. One thing Tim mentioned was how if you want 10-bit color you have to turn down the refresh rate to get it. What he didn't mention is that on the G-Sync DW model you can get it by turning the refresh rate down to 144 Hz, whereas on the new DWF model you have to turn it down to 100 Hz as there is no 144 Hz setting for the monitor. That is a much bigger sacrifice to get 10-bit color on the DWF. This is another thing Dell can fix with a firmware update though, so hopefully they do that. I've seen a lot of people complaining about it, so I'm sure Dell is aware of it.

The latest firmware upgrade somewhat fixed the HDR issue. You just have to set the contrast to 67% and make a few other tweaks. Found all of that on Reddit and now the monitor is flawless... but you have to dig to find the optimal settings and then key them all in. Still not perfect out of the box.

@natesilvers2166 It may be dependent on his local living standards. In a third-world country, the price of the monitor could easily be about 4 months of salary. And they, of course, mainly need that money to live from.

@@mugabugaYT 9:40 In the video it is attributed to the scaler. He also tested the g-sync version with new testing method, I think that was related to response time, not input lag.
I have a recent DW variant with updated firmware and there is no fan noise audible in my quiet room, nor could I spot any image quality problems so far as I can see. Gorgeous image quality. Text rendering is fine to my eyes considering this is a gaming monitor. I also prefer having the GSYNC Ultimate module since it can sync down to 1 Hz, but both variants are excellent purchases.
No fan noise in a quiet room? That's some next level stuff right there. And the image quality is gorgeous? I'm all about that high-def life. And the GSYNC Ultimate module syncing down to 1 Hz? That's some serious business. If you're looking for an excellent gaming monitor, this DW variant sounds like the way to go.
Dang, I wished mine was quiet when I had the DW version. In my quiet room it was very loud. Swapped it for a 42" C2 and it has no noise issues and text looks better.
@evanm.fabiano3332 Chess maybe? I struggle to understand the benefit. Because ordinary VRR monitors just duplicate frames when they go out of range (20fps->40Hz etc.) It sure doesn't matter for power consumption as the G-Sync module uses quite a lot by itself.
Another HUGE difference is that the DW at 10-bit does 144hz, the DWF can reach only 100hz. This is really disappointing and I hope they will fix it with a firmware update.
I would’ve gotten this had it had HDMI 2.1. I have a Series X and PS5 on top of my pc so I really need that. Hopefully the new LG OLEDs coming out have 2.1.
You can't hear it. The idle noise of your PC will be louder than the monitor's fans. You especially can't hear it if you're playing any other audio from music/videos/games etc.
@@VictusPrime The main problem on long term is that it gets noisier as it gets dusty, it can also get noisier as the fan gets older and starts to break down as every mechanical device does. And probably you can't clean it easily to make it less noisy.
How big of a difference is the 8bit color on the dwf compared to 10bit color on the dw for gaming? I recently purchased the dwf and im wondering if its something that matters enough to pay the extra money for. I know the dwf can display 10bit but only at 100hz. Any knowledge feedback is greatly appreciated
Does the AW3423DWF still have the same issue as the AW3423DW. Aka the fact that it refuses to show very dark colors, and instead make them noticable more bright then they should be?
I have two 3423DW and only one of the two is affected by that behavior, interestingly it's the newer of the two with the newer firmware which is affected by what you've described. The older one has a much better dark gamma handling able to display dark near black content. To make it similar, I have to set the newer model to gamma 2.6... while the older is at 2.2. It's likely due to panel variance... Probably it's the same for DWF some are better than others...
@@SagittariusAx mines brand new from a really good black friday sale, so it also has the newest firmware. Honestly i highly doubt the gamma curve to be a panel issue as much as a firmware issue. And the DW can only be firmware flashed at the factory :( Really considering returning it even though i like the colors. In darktide its silly that the gamma slider basically does nothing until it reaches -0.97 when the left image just disappears from having been way to visible.
Still kicking myself a little bit the original one of these came out right after I picked up an Asus ROG PG35VQ when they dropped to $1300, but at the same time I think the glossy finish as well as risk of OLED burn in may make it not great since I use it for hybrid productivity and entertainment/gaming. Either way though, the response times look seriously impressive. $1100 for an OLED monitor with these specs is really pretty great.
Same boat as you. Bought the PG35VQ on a price dropped on Amazon last year. Just bought the DWF yesterday. After using my GE67HX OLED laptop is ruined everything. Not sure what I'm gonna to with my ROG
As someone who owns the AW3423DW, and also experiencing G-SYNC for the first time as a result, I can confidently say that I won't ever be going back to a non-G-SYNC display. It's too good a feature to pass up on if you've already spent time with it. But I'm glad we're starting to see cheaper options for true HDR OLED displays. I hope Alienware continue this brand of monitor, as there are still improvements to be made.
Half a decade later, gsync continues to be overpriced and freesync still provides more value. Also disgusting that the gsync module makes firmware updates impossible
Got the Samsung OLED G8 with this same 34" panel. Had ordered the DW which never arrived, and then waited for DWF which hasn't even released in my country (Finland), so the South Koreans got my money :) I hope I'll enjoy it a long time! Congrats to everyone who have received their QD OLED goodness
I don't think anyone in their right mind would value a G-sync module as an added 200$ value to a monitor, and given some people hated the fan noise from it. Good riddance.
As an owner of the original DW model I am just happy that more people can afford and experience QD-OLED. I run it at 144hz 10bit so honestly there's no difference except cost between the two. For anyone on the fence, if you can afford it, get the DWF for an incredible OLED experience.
I’m so drunk and high got DWF I have a nvidia Alienware so I was thinking I made a mistake but your comment made me feel good broski ya I could spend 400$ more for g sync but there both dank either way I appreciate this comment ima keep my DWF
great video.. but main question is if its gonna be sold like AW3423DW (Dell websites/Amazon and few others big retailers) or availability will be wider.. cause its kinda pain in the a** to buy one in some EU countries
I returned my dw when I heard the dwf was coming and I'm glad I did. For the price it's no different to me, and honestly even with my nvidia gpu I can't tell if the module made a noticeably worthwhile addition. With that said, I've had some oddities such as Windows dropping HDR (I had to re-enable it a lot to fix the problem which could be driver specific) and the monitor showing DP1 disconnected until I did a power cycle and then the issue went away. I might still have to RMA if this continues, but hoping that firmware bugs and issues with HDR can be resolved.
@monitors unboxed I have recently purchased 2 of these monitors, and I’m abit disappointed the DWF version. The first one I got seemed faulty booted the monitor up and instantly on blacks and darl greys it was like odd pixels were flashing all colours. The second one I have got has lasted maybe 1 month and now has started doing the same. Have you any experience to what may cause this? Many thanks
