in the 3rd, a little too late for sindhu to play like her last 3 winning points. She moved okuhara from side to side and dictated the rallies well, she also played powerful smashes, but the point gap was too wide for her to catch up. Nice for Okuhara to keep her footwork stable, it is her only strength against sindhu, but she managed to win

Sindhu was just exhausted by Okuhara's game. Most of Okuhara's points were from Sindhu's mistakes. Okuhara was practically everywhere on the court and she had an outstanding stamina to endure all of the rallies and got points one after another by the mistakes her opponent made.

I hope we see more of Mdm. Geertje Tonnaer, the no-nonsense umpire, reprimanding errant player for (shouting ,time wasting and delaying) and officials as umpires should. WELL DONE.

Sindhu and her Coach should make it a point to listen to the BWF TV Broadcaster ( Commentary ) from Stein who gives or comments useful tips which could help Sindhu in her matches to play better ...for eg the Smash from Sindhu should hv been a kill ( 2nd game at halfway 11-8 ) which was not executed by Sindhu pointed by Stein .....liked it very much ...Experience counts ..Appreciate Stein .....

i have been thinking about it for long time. not that steins advice but cant a coach not able to tell or understand this by himself .. even i was thinking the same way and i have thought about things on how to tackle a player many times and which later stein or gillian would also mention.. so what i am wondering is, when i can think why not them.. how can a player playing for so long dont even know all the strategies of badminton...i am really fumbled..

also for women players there ar emany factors for them not being able to play on one of those days.. i know you will think why others (some women players) dont have that issue.. but the answer is something that i cannot mention here..

I have reviewed most of Sindhu's games and her mistakes and weakness. If only she could read them. Sindhu is the only player with almost everything physically on her side but still isn't the best player. Perhaps she will one day but she really need to dive inward and find herself and make good analysis of her opponents. It's a pity a player of her calibre to consistently misses the most important points in her career. I hope she will learn and improve fast.

I think the most difficult player in the women badminton arena, is playing against Pursular of India. She is 179 cm = 5 ft. 11 inch tall. Have height and reach advantage. She may even win the top ranking men badminton players in the world. So, any woman players wins against Pursular, is definitely a very good player. Only 4 strategies Okuhara can employ - play consistently, good stamina, tire her out, place intelligent shots out of Pursular reach.

i believe because sindhu was ready and nozomi took a little time, then sindhu made a movement. so they point each other. more like: sindhu: she's taking too long time nozomi: i was ready to serve but she moved

@@ezra7392 Banana peel "slipped", eh? Nice one. LOL I am sure she didn't intentionally leave it there but losing the game is no excuse. Half of the players lose game when change ends. I suggest she should put it in a plastic bag and put that in her bag immediately. Then there is no chance of forgetting.

Defending bad behaviour of other Indians does no good. Please stop justifying. There are well-mannered Indians out there. My Indian friends would be ashamed and horrified of Sindhu's behaviour. Playing at the highest levels is no excuse. Okuhara would never behave like that. Learn and improve rather than being defensive.

She at times slows down the game by refusing to be ready to play, and occasionally, throws her racket in the air. But so is good most of the time.

Hehe shiva sorry but I slightly agree. She can be a little annoying slowing things down and taking her sweet time when she’s losing. But when she’s winning she’ll hurry the opponent up by serving fast and transitioning the points. Keep in mind this is kinda subtle and definitely not the worst I’ve seen. Not like Carolina or boe and moegensen.

I don’t think Sindhu is THAT rude and bad but I’ve played against plenty of players doing that annoying “slow down” tactic in my time. It’s it super rude. Just annoying.

There is no rule that a player cannot shout when u win the point. This judge is awful in 9:12 when pv sinshu win the point that judge told her not to shout. Thats annoying. Shouting is just to motivate yourself.

there's a difference between shouting for yourself and shouting AT your opponent to intimidate them, and what PVS did was the latter (check the replay). although there are no rules against it (from what i know), at least have a some human decency to show respect to your opponent or to any other person for that matter. and besides it's the umpire's decision if he/she would like to call that or not.

@@prithviharish4197 could be, yes. but based from the replay at 9:12 it's unlikely. if you "just happened" to squeal at the net, it's either you look down or anywhere else and not straight at your opponent. although it's a back shot from the video you can still clearly see her head pointed straight towards okuhara signaling my point. but that shot was fabulous!
