watched again after a few years, this video is still the best on digitizing tools, thanks PS for those who want to rotate geometries from different point than center select the object you want to rotate, click the rotate tool than press ctrl and click on the point you want to use as pivot, then use another point of the object for rotation reference and align it to desire angle.

The advance digitizing tools is not available (gray out). "CAD tools cannot be used on geographic coordinates. Change the coordinate's system in the project properties." please your help!
The data you want to edit must be in a projected coordinate system where the unit of the coordinates are something like "meters" or "feet". It does not work when your data are stored in an unprojected coordinate system like WGS-84 with coordinates in degrees. The data must be able to build geometries mathematically and that is not possible with unprojected data. Try with a temporary data set (memory layer) where you specifically set the coordinate system for the layer to a projected CRS like suitable UTM projection. You should also set the project you are working in to the same CRS to make it easier for you.
Thank you very much for all your effort for making such helpful and nice video tutorials. Which coordinate we are using while entering distance into Advanced Digitizing, I mean cartesian or ellipsoidal? My distance don't match the real distance. I don't know why.

Para que la medición elipsoidal sea igual a la medición proyectada por la herramienta de digitalización avanzada es importante cambiar el parámetro siguiente que se encuentra en Menú -- Proyecto --- Propiedades, en la ventana Propiedades del Proyecto dar Clic en General, allí hay un encabezado llamado "Mediciones" -- Elipsoide (para cálculos de distancia y área), seleccionar de la lista "none/Planimetric". Este no afecta el SRC, pero ayuda que las mediciones por medio de la herramienta regla sea igual a la proyección de distancias de la digitalización avanzada. Saludos
Not exactly, but you can use "export" from the project menu to "render" the current map to raster, or the convert map to raster tool. For a single vector layer you can use the GDAL Rasterize (vector to raster) tool.
First you need to have your project and the data you want to edit in a "projected" coordinate system (does not work with WGS84). Then, when you have activated the "advanced editing toolbar" you can turn the advanced options "on" by pressing the button with the square protractor and ruler. The "shape digitizing toolbar" must also be activated, and as any other toolbar you can do that by right clicking the toolbar area. You can also do it by the menu "View" and "Toolbars".
@@Samuelson323 Your data is probably stored in an un-projected format like EPSG:4326. The style only work with data stored with projected coordinates in meters or feet.
