In this series of 7 free webinars during the Corona Crisis, Kurt Menke and Hans van der Kwast demonstrate the 7 chapters of the book QGIS for Hydrological Applications - Recipes for Catchment Hydrology and Water Management.
In this webinar it is demonstrated how to import spreadsheets and CSV files, join attribute tables, edit attribute tables and interpolating points to raster using thiessen polygons or inverse distance weighted interpolation (IDW).
Join us next Friday from 9 pm CEST / 7 pm UTC at loc8.cc/qgishydro
The book is available at locatepress.com/hyd

I was struggled to interpolate data until finding your video! Thank you very much!

Hi, Thanks for your nice videos. It is very educating. I have a question. For interpolation, I saw that each station has just a value, maybe they are values for a single day. My question is, if for example, you have a time series, maybe you want to interpolate for the entire 365 days in a year. How do you do that? Mind you, each station has 365 time series . A prcatical example is running a lumped hydrological model. Most times, you need the areal precipitation which of course could be gotten from Theisen polygon etc. which is usually calculated from the entire stations in the basin. How will one calculate the areal precipitation (which is usually one time series of 365 rows) of a basin with each station having time series of 365 rows? Thank you.

In that case desktop GIS software is not recommended. This video shows how you can do that with scripting in Python using the PCRaster package: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RFnvcApAw9g.html

thanks for your useful videos , I dont know how to interpolate temperature data by considering also elevation as a variable ,is there any reliable interpolation methode in qgis which I can use ?

WHY not link the spreadsheets !!!

You can link the tables in a spreadsheet program. Then you need to use vlookup in Excel for example. In a GIS this is a standard operation and much easier.
