I love the Phoenix line, have 101 and the 110. I only use the 110 for very light base such as Surratt's Dewdrop or Channel Eau de Taint Waterfreksh tint and it works beautifully. I usually don't care for angled brushes but am tempted to try this one. I must not be too sensitive to smell. The odor is strongest when wet, gradually dissipating as it dries. I expect it to continue to fade with more use. They may not be as soft as other saibikuho but it makes them more user-frliendly, not something to board away as being too precious to use.
@teadivamuse Happy to hear you’ve been enjoying the brushes from the Phoenix line. I love the hairs on my 124 so I hope you also get exquisitely soft hairs if you choose to purchase one.
Question for you:) So how often do you wash your foundation brushes- or any brushes you use for cream/liquid products? I don’t wear foundation very often at all, and I’ve always been very anal about washing my brushes after every use- so when I discovered fude I had a very hard time adjusting to not washing them after each use! But I just cannot ever let myself leave foundation/bb cream/cream blush etc on my brushes lol.. I guess those brushes will have a shorter shelf life but at least they’ll be clean! Do you have any recommendations? I have a very gentle spray cleaner that can be used in between washes, but I’ve found it doesn’t remove anywhere near the amount I’d be happy with. They’ve seemed to hold up quite well for the last year (my foundation style brushes that are washed more).. with no hair breakage that I can see, so that’s good:) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Btw, I really want to try the 124 and 110 out.. especially after seeing this:) Do you have an affiliate link I can use? I’ve been eyeing them for a while now and they’re still available too!💕✨

The cleansers that are typically made for quick cleaning usually have alcohol in them which is bad for the hair. Thank you so much for your support! Hi ! I'm using Liquid foundation, and I'm in love with the Koyudo Fu-Pa 02 (I own only one of it :() so I'm looking for alternatives, the phoenix 110 is more expansive than the old Koyudo, do you know others alernatives, or should I invest in this one ? thank you ! :)
@Cendres d'Eluune Sorry for the late reply! I picked up a Fu-Pa02 before they got discontinued last year and there were some pokey hairs. I prefer the Qinzhi Phoenix 110 since it's softer! The Bisyodo B-FD-01 foundation brush is a similar shape that is also highly raved about but it's 11,000 yen. I really like the Phoenix 110 and recommend it :)
My 101 has such a toxic smell it's unusable. It's the same for the Tan Yun 01 and several eye brushes. I must've gotten a really bad batch. So bummed because they really are nice brushes. Where did you order yours?
@Jitterpig Jen Sorry to hear that! I've let the 101 air out for a longer time after this video was filmed. It's been a couple months for the 101 and now it only faintly smells but I'm also not particularly sensitive to scents nor does it bother me as much as other people. The other brushes in this video didn't really smell much during the first wash besides smelling like goat and faintly of mothballs. I recommend letting the brushes air out in an open space for a long time. If you absolutely cannot stand the smell then I would recommend selling them and going with SSL. The most recent SSL brushes I bought don't have the mothball scent. Some of them smell like goat but that's to be expected.
