It's been a year in the making, back when I wrote the intro song, it WAS a new gun, lol now its over a year old, but it's no less important or awesome!
These have replaced tippy 98s at my local fields rental fleet and its so funny to see guys going on the field with electros getting smoked by rentals now that they have straight shooting guns
I 100% agree. Mech should be mech only. It's that simple. However, I don't run tourneys and have never even played in one (Bucket list item there), but my opinion must still count somehow, right? 🤘🇺🇸
Eh I've used my Ego 11 against mech guys and it really isn't a big deal if you know what your doing with a mech and banning 5.5 from tournament mech is stupid paintball loses money that way because electric guys shoot more paint which means we spend more money at events
I agree the emek grew on me, I own an emek and gog enemy pro. While I like how fast I can shoot my gog enmey pro, it still gives me issues while my emek has never given any issues.

My emek with an Pops on/off, z2 loader and cp rips. It keeps up with absolutely everything at my local field that i can use with ANY paint. Best paintball investment iv ever made. Not to mention the ergos are great!

No, stop it. CVO absolutely eats the emek for lunch. Emek isn't even the best mechanical marker PE makes now. There is a difference between BEST VALUE and the BEST. It's the mech value king, and that's not a knock on the marker. I have one I lend to friends for rec play, it's an excellent, inexpensive marker.
Hey dude I know it takes a while to do a review but honestly I think something super interesting to talk about would be the ion, how it changed paintball and also how smart parts went bankrupt despite selling one of the most popular guns ever.
Insane paintball in Chattanooga uses these as their rentals, and after coming back into the game after a 10 year hiatus I was blown away by the quality of these guns, especially when paired with the PAL system. They even converted a few to .50 cal for the little rippers to get out on the field with.
the one thing I want for the etha/emek platform is a different fore grip. Like make it like the force so we can 3d print grips. I HATE THE MASSIVE FOREGRIP. I'm the opposite of people who don't like the shocker/luxe fore grips. They fit my hands perfect
Dude keep making videos! You touch on a lot of points, and your stuff always is entertaining and makes me laugh! I totally agree with the emek, my buddy used it at practice one day and let me take 3 spins with it. I gotta say, everyone else was electric but i could still hold it down! Great marker!
i (re-)started paintball after 20 years with that emek, and i like how i can compete all the other guns (x7, gmek, dm, a5, bt4 etc...) with him, good guns, simply and effective
I was going to make a review too but everything seems to clear-cut about why these markers are pretty dang great. I wish it didn't come with that crappy ASA, even if it cost a little more in exchange, but that's the hill I will die on for every marker. (shrug) The only reservation I have on the emek is in regards to rental markers. I don't think it's nearly as durable as a model-98 for mass use in that way, since those old tippmanns are specifically designed to function with mega loose tolerance parts which includes being powerwashed after a day of punishment before throwing them into a pile for use next week. Emeks are pretty durable and easy to clean but NOTHING beats a fucking tippmann when it comes to that stuff. of course that doesn't affect you or me, but I still think it's a factor since I hear a lot of murmurs from people telling their fields to use them. Still a great inexpensive shooter, but better in cost versus performance compared to cost versus reliability.
I think the ICC thought a strictly mech only event would be a problem. They saw 5.5 bps electronics as the elimination of am entry barrier. The thing is, most paintballers have multiple markers, and there are great mech markers on the market for very reasonable prices. I think it was plausible initially, but is now completely unnecessary. Please god dump 5.5 bps electronics. Mech means mech.
Thanks for the video. I have always loved your contributions. There's lots of info out about this marker now but with your extensive knowledge, is there anything you could comment on that no one else has? Any way the marker could be better?
You can short stroke it, kinda, but it's hard. Pull the trigger back slowly and far enough to fire, and itll shoot without the three way resetting the pin. Pull the trigger again and if resets it. Unless you are trying, it's hard to short stroke it. I've done it one time, in the 20 or so cases I've put through it, by accident.
Car Soup You cant actually short stroke a Gamma Core. What can happen is the bolt can stick forward until you release the trigger if the cycle is obstructed. The bolt is basically trying to power through whatever is stopping the full cycle.
Playing with a marker like that is always fine yea I have my expensive markers but playing with marker like that is amazing I have a trilogy that I play with like that.
wish i could get one, but i cant fucking find one anywhere. if that not telling about this gun i dont know what is. used to go paintballing 1 time year always used the rentals, but im moving and i'll be a lot closer to a field so hoping to get into the sport more figured this would be a good starter gun if i can find one.
the pneumatics are garbage also frame screws are metric. other than that they make great pumps or autococker if you dont mind spending more on a pump kit or pneumatics than the guns worth
If I ran a field, had a small tournament, it would be straight mech. No batteries in anything. Marker, loader, and no RT's. You don't have anything like that? Too F@&#'n bad. I can't take my '04 Cavalier to NASCAR and make them change rules to include me. Mech play should be MECH PLAY.
Don't see why us tournament bros should have to downgrade to play the same game lmao. Pretty poor argument against speedball guns. Emek is a good gun though.
youre going to have to logically explain how having to use a mechanical marker in a mechanical tournament is a poor argument. that's like saying I should be able to used uncapped ramping in any tournament series because I shouldn't have to downgrade. or any semi in a pump tournament as long as you turn the bps down. it complete defeats the spirit of the game not to mention the very definition
