I have to confirm this, performance of this radio especially on FM is miraculous, even on automatic BW. I have one strong FM station cca 20km away on 100,2 MHz and there is one rather weak station cca 170km away on 100,1 MHz. This radio has absolutely no problem selecting between the two, which makes it one of the few radios I have in my collection that can actually preform like this.
Finally had serious propagation here in the Northeast, and this radio delivered. From eastern Long Island, I grabbed 105.7 in Boston and 105.7 Manahawkin, NJ just by turning the radio. Best capture was 106.9 WAFX from Suffolk, VA 400 miles away. Not just a few hours, but all day. 107.1 is a local signal 5 miles away. No splatter at all. Amazing.
I got mine on 24 April (SR-286) and was amazed of how many bandwidths on FM, the ability of selecting the whip antenna on LW/MW and the attenuation. The sound is very nice for the size of this radio and have plenty of volume, but is very power hungry if the battery is of low capacity. The sensitivity is great. Right now I am enjoying it very much.
Seems to work well but yet another radio with the horrible DSP tuning mute . Its a real deal breaker for me . Surely it can be overcome . I have a pl330 which is ok apart from that . For that reason I mainly use my s2000 or 501 .
