Not sure if my old clamp was tightened down way too tight or what, but while the old QR slid out of my base without a problem, I had to REALLY force the new one in there and yes, all of the slots were lined up properly.
Just happened the same to me. In my case the grooves weren't lined up perfectly with the usbc, so I had to try a few times with small increments in rotation until it went through.
I acquired the qr2 because of the disconnections with the qr1 lite and when placing the qr2 wheel side the shaft did not end up connecting to the USB C, after trying several times I tried to rotate the shaft and I was able to connect it correctly... someone else had this problem? I don't know if it is a problem with the USB C connection of my wheel base, which came inverted from the factory, or if the USB C connection of the QR2 base-side came inverted... luckily the software allows you to calibrate the steering wheel again to center it. At least what gives me a little peace is that the disconnections and movement between the qr wheel-side and the qr base-side stopped happening.
A torque wrench is must for these things. Fanatec need to include something like in the kit. Ive just had to spend £50 on 1 as you cant guess. If you do try and guess, 'turn tight'. If you're having issues its most likely because you haven't tightened the bolts up enough.
What's the difference between the QR1 and the QR2. I am planning of ordering a wheel the next week so i would like to know the differences in order to order it with the already pre-installed QR1 or order the QR2 as well
I noticed an issue on your website yesterday. When attempting to purchase the GT DD PRO with QR2, I encountered the following message: 'This Wheel Base has a pre-installed QR1 Base-Side. You can upgrade this product to QR2 by selecting the QR2 Base-Side accessory below, which must be installed before use. (...)'. I'd like to clarify: if I opt to purchase the GT DD PRO with Base-Side QR2 , does this mean the WHEEL will also come with QR2? How the PS wheel is compatible with QR2?
Thanks for your feedback, Bogumil. We’re aware that this pop-up is not working correctly. Simply put: if you’d like the GT DD Pro to come with QR2, you’d have to separately add the QR2 Base-Side (Type-C) and a QR2 Wheel-Side for the steering wheel.
@@Fanatec_Official if i purchase the base with qr2, why you dont instal it yourself and ship it ready? I mean you dont have to give the qr1 plus there will bee less problems to deal via people who cant instal it!
Can anyone confirm me this QR2 clamp is mate from METAL and is sturdier than the QR1 lite clamp? I'm having big problems with the plastic single bolt clamp, disconnecting my wheel approx every 1.5-2h of racing
Had the same issue at high torque. Yes, the clamp that ships with the QR2 Base Side is made of metal and way better than the one that ships from factory with the csl dd. Although, the original qr1 clamp I got was also metal, just worked terribly.
@@mj-np9sy so for the fanatec csl dd, from the dd base to the metal shaft, there is a connection. the way they decided to secure these two to each other was through plugging each other in with a usb c. the problem is that the clamp will over time, get loose due to vibration and high ffb. when it gets loose enough, the shaft to base connection unplugs, essentially creating an open, meaning that you wont be getting any force feedback.
I highly agree with you. There should have been a solid discount for this part for people like us. my dd pro is 6 months old and i couldnt even write them a repair order. i cant believe im trying to solve issues by spending another $200. regardless of what i did my wheel would disconnect. Pretty upset about this issue.
