Nicely done, I was wishing you would have set up the station from what looked like a park setting. Thanks for sharing your set up with us. I hope it inspires more people to get into QRP. 73's For now. DE: Dave N6PGG / 7 Spokane Valley WA.
Nice Video Tony. You forgot your tape measure.. The tape measure makes a great antenna too. You might try the MFJ-1899T with a random length counterpoise wire.
A few questions, Tony: 1. Don't you use a counterpoise on that wire antenna? I haven't tried QRP, but the differences in signals would surely make a difference? 2. You said that, in hindsight, you might not have purchased the Elecraft external mic. Could you expand on this, please? Would you have just gone with a headset mic for a computer instead, or the internal mic is good enough on the kx2? Thanks!
Nice setup. Where's the clock? I have the clock option in my KX2. But that is one expensive clock. Nice informative video. Hope you enjoy your portable setup. Barry, KU3X/QRP
how has the 5 meter pole worked for you for sota? I've been saving for the 10 meter pole from sotabeams but for 15 dollars I might give the 5 Meter a try.
+shocktroop0351 haven't been able to use it yet for SOTA. In my other experimentation, it is a littler shorter than I'd like, but a decent compromise considering its collapsed size.
