For better wheelies, yank as hard as you can on the handlebars, 100% throttle and hold it, make sure you're high and drunk, cut your brake lines mid-wheelie, make an anti-sea-bear circle and ignore this fantastically bad advice I just gave you. Works every time!
I know I'm late to the party but.... Couple tips: first of all get a wide aftermarket grab bar, if you haven't already. This will help to prevent you from tipping side to side. I like the PRM brand bars, they seem to hold up the longest. Secondly, try 1st gear, and clutch it right up. If you hit the bar a bunch of times, that's OK. Once you have it in your head that you won't fall over backwards, and it will just stop on the bar, you will be a MILLION times more confident in yourself. Slower you're going, the better... It will hurt a lot less. Get 1st gear down first! You can do it! Check my video if you'd like, that's 6 months after learning how to wheelie. Must be so dope to be able to ride the streets legally on your quad, I'd be out there all day every day on my YFZ if I could!
If you're stuck in reverse.. pull in the clutch and simply move your shifter up. If that doesn't work check to make sure your reverse cable isn't sticking/stuck. I've never had that problem before!
I pop the clutch (let the clutch grab fast) when I wheelie but as you can see I'm not that good at wheelies. For drifting or just spinning the wheels around a corner I just give it gas. It has enough power to break the tires free and drift
