Its to old system for present , I guest, 2015 to present 2024. Its to lazy sys. Hardware is ok, but soft sucks. Need time and rev to kick back. 4 low is perfect by my humble opinion.
Thank you for this video!. I did some research on line and apparently Q.D.II came with the front ELSD until 2010, 2011 until present Q.D.II comes with the ELSD in the back, but....in the front is a TCS (ABS and brakes operated)
@@dieselrules7912 from what I know in the QD II, the center diff. is also an ELSD, so...that means that can engage in HIGH range too, but at LOW range is fully locked (50/50)
Locking differentials are great, but it’s like comparing apples and oranges. They are different and useful in their own way. Mechanical locking diffs like on the early Rubicon we’re part of the Rock-Trac “Part-Time” 4x4 system. That meant the driver had to engage the diffs whenever needed - they weren’t automatic. The locking diffs also severely limited turning radius. The Quadra-Drive II “Full-Time” 4x4 system had nearly instantaneous lockup when slip was detected. Less than a 1/4 turn of a tire/wheel spinning freely was needed before lockup. And it was automatically detected, so you could leave the system on at all times - in any weather, or on any road. All that and it could go off-roading and hang with the best of them on the weekend. The two systems have their place, with the QDII being the more sophisticated of the two.
@@LeeEkstrom yeah, I have to agree. I love both of my 4x4s. I enjoy the quadra drive 2 on my 2006 Commander 5.7 hemi and I also very much enjoy my differential locks on my power wagon!
Love your choice of vehicles. I had a 2006 Commander with HEMI and QDII as well. Nice set-up - sold it to a guy who was going to convert it to an Overlanding 4x4 with roof tent. The chief platform engineer for TJ (Dave Yegge) insisted on air lockers for the Rubicon, but ended up switching to Power Wagon's Eaton-based electronic lockers in 2007. The Power Wagon has some amazing off-road prowess for a full-size truck.
Could be the fluid is not correct or low. Check out this thread for more details. www.google.com/amp/s/www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/quadra-drive-not-working-541329/%3famp=1
