Quadra-Fire Ceramic Thermocouple Cover Tube Tips

When the ceramic tube starts to get build up on it, can you clean it off with something? New to us first pellet stove owner.

Thanks for contacting us. The thermocouple comes into play once the fire is lit, acting as a 'proof of fire' so the unit can go into normal operation from start-up. If the stove doesn't feed or light on start-up it would be normal to see the blinking amber lights indicating thermocouple temp was not reached. What model Quadrafire do you have? Most units have a couple safety switches in-line with the auger motor - if tripped or faulty the auger motor won't work. The auger motor itself can be tested as well to see if the issue is with the motor itself. Check the simple things first - Clean out any accumulated ash in the stove, exhaust blower, and venting. Make sure your door gaskets are sealing tight. Keep us posted, happy to help.

@@EarthSense Thanks for responding. I had just cleaned the stove. I found one of the thermo couple wires was loose. I tightened it up,rechecked all of the doors and gaskets and it fired right up. Thanks again
