In this exciting episode of Create: Astral Adventure, we dive deeper into the world of modded Minecraft with the Create Mod. Starting off, we create a Mechanical Crafter that enables us to automate the crafting process. Using the Mechanical Crafter, we craft a Quadrocopter that we use to fly around and explore our Minecraft world from a new perspective.
We then venture to the moon to mine for Certus Quartz and Silver Ore. With the silver we mine, we craft Integrated Circuits that are crucial to making an Alternator, which is an incredible device that can convert stress units into energy. We combine all the necessary materials and craft the Alternator to end the episode with a bang.

Watching someone encounter and then overcome mistakes and obstacles is much more helpful than just showing the finished product. Please keep showing the full process!

I really appreciate the explanation of how things are made because it's like a more entertaining how to guide and modpack exploration. Basically it's like I get to experience the game along side you and learn everything at the same time as you do.

Also it helps if someone is new and trying this modpack after he is done. My biggest complaint with the major youtube minecraft creators they skip too much and that is off putting to new users.

Most of the reason create is such a fun mod is that you actually have to figure out how to make and optimize your setups as opposed to just following a guide and grinding the the resources like so many other mods, so “the process” is the whole point. It’s why people watch your playthrough instead of just seeing a screenshot of your final base.

Also, a really good material for the hammer is Whitestone, make a stone hammer head and cast tin over it. It developes a shield when mining stone, saving durability

To avoid the belts clogging up you can use a chest as a buffer and use a chute/funnel on It and set as a target for the ejector, similar on the AE2 setup with autocrafting and buffers 👌

I have a suggestion with your clogging issue, try using the ejector to throw the item towards a funnel pointing into your input barrel, which will definitely stop the clogging issue, but since precision mechanisms have many phases that don't stack together it might limit your operation size to a couple of stacks

The quadcopter is so useful when you have to get back to the portal on the moon at night. You can just fly over all the corrupted lunarians Yeah REI is a little funky to get used to. I'm pretty sure lead is from Mars and nothing else. Not actually made it that far yet but considering the only other ore in REI is Mars Lead ore... I really want to get into AE2 but I just can't find two of the asteroid presses. Super annoying. Takes ages to move across the moon I'm really enjoying the step-by-step. There are a few other Create Astral playthroughs atm but none are either on the current version or going step-by-step.

To prevent the clogging problem you have with your setup, you need to prevent too many things from being cycled, otherwise you will get a deadlock, no matter what you do, because to much stuff is moving in a circle. Introducing a buffer (funnel>barrel>funnel) will allow more things to be cycled at once. If you want a manufacturing line to handle 27 items at once, add one of such buffers, either in front of the weighted ejector or you put a funnel on top of the start-barrel and launch into that. Just make sure to not exceed your inventory spaces with the cycled items. Also keep in mind that the partially completed things don't stack. If you need to cycle more than 27 items, just add more buffers.

So I believe you can use the weighted ejector to launch into a funnel/hopper. The use a chest as a buffer so they don’t clog the belt up
@AerumaBunny
@AerumaBunny Год назад
I had success using the weighted ejector flinging items to a hopper at the start of the conveyor line. I think the issue is when you throw a bunch of items on the conveyor on this version. A vanilla hopper will output one at a time and probably thats why it works fine for me.

It also helps a lot of players with understanding the logic of where to put cogs and belts, as from what i have seen is a ton of people do get confused on that part. It was one of the hard parts for me in the Create above and beyond pack, so seeing every step helps a lot more people!!

I think a solution for the weighted ejector could be to make it launch to chest/barrel that has an andesite funnel on top. Would allow things to pass through the line in a queue until they're all done, or assembly resources run out.
@beez1717

You can use a chest to receive the crafted item in the mechanical crafter. You just point the paths so they end at the chest. Just keep in mind that you can't open the chest if a mechanical crafter is above it.

I got the weighted ejector working. I simply put a hopper onto the belt, and set it as the target of the weighted ejector. I tried with a stack of 20 (far too many for my belt to hold), and now they stack up as entities on top of the hopper. But the hopper does a perfect job of putting only a single item on the belt at a time, so everything runs without getting jammed. I let it all run, and all 20 were processed successfully without any help from me!

Chest with chute on top at the beginning of the belts, with funnel feeding out onto the belt. Weighted ejector sends to chute, which deposits in chest, to use as a buffer. You can have the weighted ejector fire into a chute that goes into the chest that feeds the belt. Should solve your back up problem
@beez1717
@beez1717 Год назад
You should use the backtank for the extendo grip because it uses pressurized air in it to power the extend o grip instead of using durability. You charge the backtank by placing it under the shaft of a cog so it rotates the backtank's compressor to get compressed air in it. I don't know if you can just use a crank to charge the backtank but if so, it would be dead simple to do it!

To fix the weighted ejctor porblem you could have the items eject into a hopper or chute that goes into a buffer barrel that then funnels collected items back on to the belt

Hopper > Chest > Andesite Funnel > Belt > Process Crafting > Buffer Chest. Then from the Buffer you take out finished product from the side using crude/basic storage and use one single blacklisted Brass Funnel (requires the actual filter item properly configured to black list the finished product) to put the incomplete items onto an Ejector targeting the Hopper at the beginning of the line. You may need a short belt between the funnel and the ejector to allow line of sight, but it works and doesn't seem to have the skip clogging problem you were showing. Does it still back up? Yes, because ejectors are slow regardless of rotational speed. You trade speed for space. Obviously this doesn't help early game because of the one brass funnel... but you could still skip that and use andesite if you're removing the finished product before the buffer chest.

19:45 yeah I know the feeling, the steps to crafting if things aren't automated along the way can make your head hurt lol Normally I half brute force my way through expert/automation packs because I get tired of reverse engineering REI crafting steps into automation setups but someone posted a pretty complete automation flowchart on the Create: Astral discord so I decided to automate everything once I got to bronze. It's taking some time because I'm also making builds for different areas but it's so satisfying when each area is done and functioning. Also, lead is on mars. The amount of times that has been asked on the discord is not insignificant lol I don't know how recipes displays work in mods like REI but if they could make it display the recipes in order of how easily they are accessible it would solve that problem. I can't count the amount of times someone has asked how to get lead, be given the answer of it's on mars, then ask how they can get to mars if they need lead. Hopefully that info is at least added to the quest book in the next update.
