I grew up watching my dad play this all the time, his favorite character was tank jr, only because he made a cool hydraulic sound when he jumped (instead of grunting)
i still remember playing Quake 2 and my dad came home with Quake 3 arena. i had no idea there was even another Quake being made. the transition was insane
ye right but you know what?? He is the very first opponent excluding Tier 0 and his map is named "Arena Gate". I think he is the opposite of it may look like and the Ranger is actually some kind of veteran testing new warriors, letting them to go through gate if their skill is good enough. This is important task and common warrior wouldn't handle it!
I imagine a Quake Arena 2 with these change and additions: Tier 5: - Sorlag. - Cadaver. - Major - Xaero. - Phobos. Tier 6: - Duke Nukem. - William "B.J." Blazkowicz (Wolfenstein). - Caleb (Blood) Tier Z: - Sam (From Serious Sam). - Doom.
Alguien paso todos los niveles de quake en tora? En lo maximo dificil?? Yo si y me siento orgulloso porq muy pocos lo pasaron, las pase las fases en lo maximo dificil artas veces cada una porq me aburria y las pasaba con distintos personajes xd, era muy viciado! La que mas me costo fue la primera la de crash, la de donde esta major , doom y sorlag ( es mi fase favorita ) y la de xaero , la ultima! Eso fueron las q mas me "costaron" y despues ya las pasaba 10 veces con distintos personajes para asi darme un reto personal xd! Alguien mas lo paso asi como yo???bros???
Las dificultades tienen nombre, pero prefiero sinceramente referirme a ellas por el orden numérico, osea, primera, segunda, tercera, cuarta y quinta Algo curioso de las primeras tres dificultades es los bots en dichas dificultades tienen handicaps que en orden van de 50, 70 y finalmente 90, las últimas dos dificultades no tienen handicap La función del handicap originalmente fue destinada para su uso cuando había jugadores novatos en el juego y aquellos veteranos que quieren un reto, además de reducir tu vida máxima, reduce el daño de tus armas y la efectividad de tu armadura, esto en los bots ayuda a que tengas un reto acorde a lo bueno que eres en el juego
Those 1 on 1 levels at the end of each tier were tough, i always found it hard getting past Anarki. But Xan, with a bit of camping near either of the corner posts adjacent to the railguns, wasn't too difficult, beat him on Nightmare first time
i ask myself to this day. ranger / BItterman are from quake and quake 2, doom and pobos are from ... well doom. I guess sarge is also from quake 2 cuz of the intro cinematic and tank jr also... but other than that?
Am I the only one that found the last tier to be extremely anticlimatic? I loved this game back in the day, and for its time it looked awesome and these little intro sequences to each set of levels was way sweet too, but I thought the end character was pretty generic amongst the other pretty creative ones..
You mean Xaero? Dunno man, gotta disagree with you a bit. I freaking loved to hate Xaero. The bot was a nightmare on nightmare difficulty, quite literally. And the fact that he never lost a fight before we defeat him and his soul metaphorically ascends from the mortal plan in the final cinematic. Quite epic. Made sense to me at 9 years old. I was terrified of Xaero's glowy eyes and his chamber which is basically a glorified space station where you fight for control over the railgun or BFG

DOOM? Jesus... What a fucking imagination. With all of my love to 90s FPS like Doom and Quake, i think they were like apes and the only primals were Unreal and Half-Life
