Oh yes, I know the medal stats are inconsistent, but that's from many many bad games against the bots, or almost winning a game and then just failing last minute. And the match with Xaero didn't record properly so I lost quite a bit of progress...luckily I backed up to Tier 6 but that should be your explanation, I guess.
To get this out of the way, this was done on the Spearmint engine, which is Ioquake 3 with features such as aspect correct widescreen (No more 4:3 stretched resolution), unlagged instant hit weapons, high resolution font support, four-player splitscreen, and probably the most notable one for this particular video, improved Bot AI. I can't exactly confirm the last one as I haven't really touched Nightmare on quake3.exe/ioquake3.exe in forever so I guess I'll just assume it's mostly the same with some tweaks, correct me if necessary.
High Quality Quake 3 is a mod where things like game assets and menu text have got a bit of a graphical touch, making Quake 3 look sharper in some places. No things like models or weapons have been changed, still the same Quake 3 look for the most part. The only thing it affects the bots with is some scripting fixes by the looks of it, so not much has been done to them. Oh, and it also includes The Unofficial Patch for Quake 3, including missing official maps and what not.
And almost forgot, Spearmint, while retaining Quake 3's gameplay in all its glory, is not compatible with Quake 3 demos, servers, and mods (not including custom maps), but well, you may or may not care depending on who you are. I don't really know what servers are active for Quake 3 so I can't really tell.
Explaining what maps were the hardest and why might just end up filling the description, so to summarize the hardest maps for me were:
-Q3DM2: Phobos does not mess around.
-Q3TOURNEY2: Hunter plays Hide & Seek.
-Q3DM10: Wrack is always winning with that Plasma Gun, I wonder why.
-Q3DM18: Major and her Quad Machinegun on two legs, dang cheater. It confuses me how this bot can get 3 kills in a row with the Machinegun in so little time.
Some other maps were difficult, but then there's easy ones like any map with a BFG or Q3DM19, where the bots really struggle to not die (and the map is wonky). Surprisingly the final match with Xaero wasn't too much of a pain, but then again, I played like a chicken because what other strategy works against an aimbot like him.
Anyways, erh here you go? Also please don't start some "This is bad some other person is better/I'm better/noob/etc.", it's unpleasant and only puts a negative image to the Quake community being full of elitists or some purists who can't be pleased. Let's not continue that.
And believe or not, not every player is some god at video games so further pushing some bad exclusivity is the last thing Quake needs to be relevant in today's era.
