Imagine being a World class CPMA player ... but you are beaten like a toddler by Aph or Vo0 because their speed, accuracy and total map control just always keeps you totally stressed out with no second of relief.
Man I was doing my config for years. Good old days!!! :) this was sport!!! All textures were turned off, everything blank with no gimmicks. The rocket was literally a flying cube. Different senses for every weapon. Even the fov changed with the weapon. Ping and frames where your god. And the rest pure skill. Fuck I miss that shit. Is it possible to play this shit today? Hello, i ve seen that no one responded you. But yeah, you are still able to play this and there is your viable options at the moment. Quake Live, with 150/300 active people a day, and of course quake champions. About cpma, there is still pubs, but its like weekend night frags, no one plays it anymore. Defrag community is still very active to this days.
Hmm, you are missing something. There's no map control in CPM3a against Vo0. He's like everywhere. You're lucky not to end with negative frags. Just like DM4 in Quakeworld against the best players.
Yes, this map is incredibly small and has straight visuals through all the map. Once one player has locked it, its really hard to get the control back. And the higher the players skill level, the harder it is to get back into game. P1s wasn't that bad those times, there were so many players which seemed to be weak when facing beasts as Vo0
This is actually me playing back then. You know there is a very fine line between getting totally beat like that and having a close game on this map. It is very hard to play out of control. However, a few months after that game a game called warsow game out and I beat vo0 a few games. You are often not as far behind as you might think :P Also I did quite a lot better on our other games than this one. This was the first as I remember and he wanted to teach me a lesson since I provoked him into playing me :D I was a teenager and he was a world champion in multiple games
It's not fun as this anymore because of changes made by new team, 5 ammo for rocket and rail is just bullshit, and stupid rocket is like rail, splash radius is so low makes cpma not enjoyable anymore. and İ don't know whats wrong with self knock back it's hard to make Rj's.
they should have just remastered cpma and advertised it properly as the pinnacle of esports.... instead they came up with fucking champions and bullshit.. at least there is reflex arena which has unfortunately a very low playerbase :(
as far as i know voos binds were centered around wasd so probably e=LG q=RL f=Rail r=PG and so on.. i for myself use mousewheel up=Rail mw down=RL so i have more keys around my movement keys for other guns
