Love these old matches ... they fight even without stack. Look at how they play now, especially Rapha ... yes his tactics is crisp perfect but you will get bored to death in 1 minute watching him play.
you only get bored watching rapha games if ur duel elo is 1k and u don't have a clue how the game is played lol, if u can understand the mind games behind it i think rapha can show u one of the most interesting and intense matches u ever watched like some of his finals against cooller/evil/cypher, but you people prefer the dumb "let's take every fight cuz my aim is so broken" way of dueling
@@nik3234 sorry, but the modern champions tournaments have traded players' skills for whatever imbalance game designers introduced with game characters on specific maps. With Champions it's no longer a duel of skills, it's a duel of artificial abilities of "gliding faster", "seeing farther", and "disappearing quicker" unequalities plus item respawn timer crunching.
Interesting to see how much ppl at quake 3/live have improved. At 1:40 tox mistimes the red and cooller standing on red without a stack. That wouldn't happen today.
Hmm well both players are inactive pretty much. Toxjq isn't exactly known for his timing, not that I think it was a timing error, he definitely knew red was up. He was just out of position, and Cooller took advantage of that - which is definitely something Cooller does all the time.
that looked very weird indeed. styles between playeres differed a lot more back in those days and yes players have improoved a lot. the meta in quake duel can be considered almost solved today. but back then you have players that relied more on tactics and strategy like cooller and aimers like Toxic. the plan was pretty much to get control and then to just overpower you with superior aim. if you are dominating you can more or less improvize picking up armors as you can simply cut players of from parts of the map. or you dont even time items and pick them by feel. today every top player can time perfectly as it is a relatively easy skill to aquire and you just build your game on top if it. I didnt realize it at the time but today i realize players like cooller and ZeRo4 were way ahead of their time. their matches were really advanced for the time and they thought multiple steps ahead. like a chess player might. really construct a plan how to get control and keep it.

Истинно так. Раньше даже elder scrolls (morrowind) надо было самому думать и искать определенных людей или места по табличкам в игре, а щас стрелочка нахуй указывает вот поговори или убей этого, никакой интриги и интереса
что ты знаешь о зрелищности? зрелищность это когда игрок сам творит что-то нереальное в стрельбе и передвижениях по карте за счет рокет-джампов, а не за счет того что он нажмет кнопку и его перетащит гарпун куда надо, или ты школьник? тогда простительно
@@sakhadbd Попизди мне тут про школьника. Гребаный ретроград небось все еще сидишь с друганом на каких нибудь забытых серверах ку 3 осп и скучаешь по началу 2000х. Ты блять даже не представляешь о чем говоришь, потому что я не знаю как человек увидев прокачанную афину у какого нибудь Hell_UK в матче против ивела, может сказать, что афина для школьников. Афина способна оказывать самый сильный прессинг на противника, но в тоже время она хардкорный персонаж т.к. у нее нет хп и брони клатча. Она может полностью пропылесосить на карте все критические айтемы за секунд 10. От нее крайне сложно убежать, если противник пытается ныкаться. Если ее выталкивают за пределы карты она способна вернуться обратно на гарпуне. Точно так же если противник с лоу хп решил угробить квад прыгнув в яму, афина может нырнуть за ним и вытащить паверап обратно. Кроме того, еще не до конца раскрыт потенциал нового перса инженера. Его турели выступают как толстый щит, детектят противника по дамагу. Еще могут прыгать бесконечно на джампадах, правда пока неясно как это будет применяться. Рокетджампы из игры никуда не пропали. Вчера кулер вместо того, чтобы пешком идти на помощь тиммейту, перепрыгнул через стену на рокетджампе прямо за шиворот сильнейшей команде мира clips.twitch.tv/StormyTenaciousPterodactylRitzMitz В игре еще будут находить кучу нюансов типа этого момента, где рафа стрелял по воде, чтобы его не подрейлили ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yLLY8n9AkGs.html Квейк 3 и кулайв были хорошими играми, но сейчас они морально устарели по всем параметрам.

Do you know who these are? Check them out in Quake champions now. Both of these are the ones most iconic quake players :) Toxjq ruled Quake 4 and cooller has his insane path. :) And they do not suck with rail :P
to force players like rapha to fight they should either remove the powerups or have them respawn every second so they can fill upp quickly. They are playing in a boring way, we like to see fights, not just tactics, this is not chess.
it kind of is chess. You got opening moves right after spawn (right play will score you at least one powerup, wrong one will score you death), mid game where players fight for an advantage and then the end game where people are trying to keep the frag advantage and just run and hide while the loosing opponent chases the player. I honestly prefer 5 minute build up towards an epic fight instead of constant action with 10 frag difference in the end. But I guess thats each person preference
