Losing my net in the lake has been good luck for me. Won the tournament when that happened. Actually that’s why I’m holding the pike in my pic the way I am and that’s the winning fish. Was a crazy few days with wheel literally coming off on the way there and tornado warnings during the event.

Congratulations keep it going. I’ve fished in the rain for large mouth and the over hanging branches hold fish I think because the rain washes bugs and worms out of trees which give opportunities for fish to get an easy bite. That works for me but I’m in the northeast close to Rhode Island.

Forgetting a net is nothing, I forget my fishing rod on occasion. I'm not competing for a classic berth though. It's a sign of a relaxed angler (to be able to forget important stuff).

Damn, no net... You turned me on to that Frabill conservation ultralight net. I've been using it sense spring. At first I thought handle was to long, now I love that thing! Gotta have the net, never know when you run into a big one & not worth losing right at the yak because trying to lip it. I use net for every big or small. Just to keep that muscle memory so grab & use it without thinking. Good luck & kick some ass!!
