arguably the best qualifier on the grid, it would be very interesting to see him compete with max on all the qualis, races and championship if he gets to learn the merc the way he learned williams and then there's also lewis who wouldn't back off, so it could be 2016 all over again, but with max in the mix, possibly even perez norris and some other drivers. its gonna be new regulations and cars, so the grid might get scrambled up a bit

@@Anon-db9ox if it dies down, it dies down, so far he's been very impressive and on his only occasion in merc, delivered despite having no time to adapt unlike bottas. Sure he lacks experience in front, compared to Lewis, but he still gets some battles with other great drivers like kimi seb fernando on the back. He'll adapt quickly imo, he's been outdriving his machine this whole season

I'd say this format suits Ricciardo better as it relies more on raw pace, and as a newcomer, he doesn't know how to set the car up quite right yet. Norris doesn't have enough time to find his perfect setup, so it's super close and I'm super happy.

I must admit, it is almost impossible for Ferrari to be in P4 in Silverstone. But Charles made it. Great job for him.

@@jarijaridewa but Carlos finished P5 and P6 in Austria despite the fact it’s mostly straights. Some slow corners yes but you’d expect the straight line speed deficit to show a bit more.

One of the most intense qualifying sessions that doesn't set the grid. For me, the jury is still out in how I feel about this format. ie: If Lewis Doesn't get pole because a backmarker crashes into him. That will kind of ruin the idea of Qualifying.
