@@alexadarraga1764 I mean Daniel still doesn’t seem to be on top of that mclaren, while sainz is challenging his teammate. If Daniel in his current form can’t beat Norris, how can you say he’s better than the guy who was better than Norris in the same car for the last two years? Both are talented drivers but on current form not sure how you can say Daniel is miles better than Carlos
You cannot overlook Alonso's skill this past season. He might not be getting pole or finishing in the top three, but his driving has been phenomenal! There's no denying his experience and his skill on the track. He's consistently performing to such a high standard and taking corners like it's nobody's business. It's such a shame that week in and week out his age is made the main topic of conversation whenever he's mentioned in the commentary box. I know that for the sport he's getting old, but then again, Hamilton is only 4 years behind him in age... Anyway, he was incredible today and would love to see him in a competitive car despite what people say about his age.
I'd say that Alonso's presence in F1 gives moral boosts to anyone else on paddock, including the rookies and young drivers to show what they are capable of. I honestly wanted to see him going back to his obsolete but prime form back when he over towed an underweighted and stand chanced Ferrari 2012 car into a champion contender due to incredible reliability despite its lack of pace but that'd be such a high form of wishful thinking. Also Alpine is already a competitive car, we just need to wait for the regulation changes being unfold next season and see what would happen, since I could've bet for Alpine winning both titles as Brivio was the one who brought Suzuki MotoGP to their first ever driver title since a sort of decades ago, but that'd be too optimistic as I wanted to be more realistic on this occasion.
Absolutely, alonso is coping with age very nicely, at 40 on paper a driver should already be experiencing a slight decline for 5 years (35 is the last peak year), then decline should intensify every year above 40, I think currently if given a title contender he'd still be fighting verstappen and hamilton, who's not been exceptional this year.
Obviously there is a skill difference but I think it's also phsycological. Everyone expects Mazepin to perform badly. If he then performs badly it's just a nasty loop.
What a masterclass by Ferrari in quali today. Sainz knocking out their rival team Ricciardo in Q1, Sainz giving Leclerc a tow to get into Q3, and Leclerc qualifies P4 (a net P3). The masterplan!
Massive props to Schumacher for his Q2 performance. I genuinely think he could've done better than P14 if he hadn't been forced to stop from the Stroll incident.
@@Mexxx65 yeah , some mind games going on there . People think Norris is innocent , but he isn't so . He always asking for position swap degrading Daniel .
Congratulations to Schumacher on his performance today ... I hope he can show his talent in the next race, and I hope that next season he will be given a more competitive car.
Rookie? He's an ex old world champion, if you didn't know. edit: really, you guys are gonna be like that to me, just because I didn't knew the jokes? Like why?
@@riderix5687 his past two finishes out of the points weren't his fault tho, just terrible strategy from AT. he's been consistently in the top 6 this year
Old Fox FA again impressive, I m a huge Alo fan , honestly I feared the worst performance from Him when he returned, but again showing and proving Class is permanent..
@@cinegraphics Well tbf, Alonso in equal machinery he’s only tied with Lewis in pace and points. And that was Lewis’s first season mind you. I’m not even a Hamilton fan
@@GTChucker86 in 2007 that wasn't "equal machinery". They were slowing down ALO's car in order for rookie to be faster. As Ron Dennis himself said: "We weren't racing Kimi, we were racing Alonso". It was a miracle that ALO collected equal number of points in so hostile conditions. Not many drivers would. But from 2010 to 2013 ALO showed who's the boss. Always better than LH even though LH had a better car.
@@cinegraphics Funnily enough, the finnish commentators joked that Bottas can get a bonus check this weekend by putting on his "Hungary mode" again. I hope they didn't just jinx it.
Quickest car starting P11 Sainz starting P20, in the third fastest car. 5 different teams in top 5. Going to be a very interesting race with such a mixed grid!!
@@rotanux I think you’ve missed the guy aboves point. How can you point at the weather conditions of this one quali to suggest he’s a top driver, when he’s already done it in more standard conditions? A guy doing what he’s been doing all season regardless of conditions doesn’t mean you can say the conditions played a role in him doing the same thing again
@@rotanux given your the only one who’s interpreted it like that I don’t think that’s the ops point, but sure argue what you want. Even if it was confirmation it’s the backend of the season, I think we already know where everyone is. Do you need me to point out the mercs and max qualified in the top 3 for you to realise they might be the title contenders this year?
@@yusifkbrov6743 for sure, it was just funny how sainz knocked Daniel out of Q1 when he is starting 20th no matter what he was Ferrari’s puppet that quali lol
for the guys who didnt watch the whole session , i just wanna say that all Carlos did in q2 was to come out once just to give Charles a slipstream. Nice one ferrari
Jenson's commentary adds so much insightful context to what is happening on screen, especially his comments on the tyres explaining why and how the drivers were struggling for grip.
The editor of this video missed an opportunity to show Stroll spinning in turn 1 and following the exact sideways tracks Tsunoda left before. It was hilarious to watch.
Fernando Alonso, you never fail to surprise. What a performance putting that Alpine regularly in the top 5 in every session. I mean, that car has no business out qualifying a McLaren and a Red Bull all who are running updated 2022 spec engines. This is how he fought for a championship in 2012 with the 5th fastest car. Truly magical. As for Crofty; your bitterness is still showing, not even sitting P2 could convince you to utter his name. Nice of Ted & Jenson to acknowledge Alonso’s brilliant performance.
Leclerc makes a MEGA lap iN Q3 with a Ferrari, but F1 decides to show other things. It's not the first time and will not be the last, but I just can't remember the last time where I saw a non Mercedes or Verstappen lap in Q3.
It would be so much better if we could just log onto an F1 site and choose from multiple camera angles to watch. If basic race coverage was available for free, and extra such as choosing specific driver cams kept for paying members, they could achieve both providing an avenue to bring in new fans (which should bring more sponsors), as well as old fans gaining the option to actually watch any team or driver's race play out, rather than only the drivers that make headlines.
@@colehartel7206 Like, I have F1TV and I could watch the onboard on Leclerc, but it's not the same. I just dont have enough monitors to watch everything I want and watching the onboard does not give me the information on the times they are making. They should have something that could help people that don't have the privileges of the ones that have F1TV because that's probably the majoraty of the people who watch F1
Amazing? How so? He got through Q3 using soft tyres, tomorrow will start 10th (9th with the penalty to lewis) and behind him he has all the medium/hard starters...
@@sadown4490 more of a verstappen/russell but carry on haha, i can just appreciiate another drivers improvement unlike you clearly. funny how you think the tyres are the only reason, ill leave you in your dilusional world though.
@@pietekoo5559 Hamilton doesn’t have a complete new engine, just a component got changed which is significant but not the main reason as we can see with Bottas time. The RB is struggling with the grip
i have hope for Tsunoda he seems able to drive really fast just gotta learn how to handle the limits and he will be competing in the top with the others
