That’s true David! I’ve been watching my Thundercat DVDs since making this video and I’m feeling a little bit better about my purchase as long as nobody reminds me about the price.
Oh yeah, I’m not trying to get any free toys from any company. I mostly keep it honest here. I got their response. By the way, they’re only going to offer me a credit.
As a longtime collector of Japanese Robot toys that often have those rubber treads, I will warn Thundertank owners. Move them periodically. So they are not always sitting at the same points. Otherwise they will develop a shape memory and may become brittle over time. Just the joys of rubber treads.
What? An honest review on RU-vid? No way! ;) Plus, it's so nice to not hear, "Super7 sent me this to review...". In short: Bravo, sir! ;) Your reviews always entertain me and make me laugh and this one was no different. With all the flaws the Thundertank has, I'm still super jealous and wish I had one. Maybe some day. Like you said, it would've been nice had they incorporated more features, like removable panels, firing guns, etc., especially for the price point, but there's not denying that that is, by far, the best toy version of a Thundertank you could get. Speaking of over-sized 80's toys, I recently got the unlicensed TMNT Turtle Van and it's freakin' HUGE, too! It is spot-on in every detail to the old cartoon and in scale with the Neca Turtle figures. If you haven't looked into that one, I highly recommend it. (if you like that sort of thing, I mean) ;) Awesome review, yet again, and keep up the great work!!! ^_^
Hey thank you FU-reviews! I’m too honest, and RU-vid doesn’t really like that. But I’m gonna keep rolling with it. I had a few of the original turtles when I was a kid, but it didn’t stick for me. My brother was a little younger and he was really into them. But for some reason, I really love the ThunderCats. this is over priced, and lacks a lot of features. It really should have. But I can’t deny that it looks bad ass putting my figures all over it. Thanks for stopping by and checking things out. RU-vid is not my job, so I just try to make videos when I can about the stuff I’m into. Have a great weekend!
Im on the edge purchasing this tank too..watching alot of reviews and asking for people’s comment bout them..the price is just too high for it..feels needed more extra details inside the tank..i will be new to collecting to super7, especially Thundercats!.I’m a 80’s kids, so i loved Thundercats!! Im gonna hold off and hopefully they go on sale later jn the future..500 is just too much…
Yeah, the price is outrageous. If you’ve collected all the figures, this is sort of the Castle Grayskull for this line. I think you gotta get it if you’ve got the other figures. Hopefully, yours doesn’t come with snarf Pooh smeared inside your cabin. By the way, I just reviewed Mandora and the electro charger if you wanted to check that out. There’s some more video of those figures near the Thundertank. If you can afford it, go ahead and get it!
@@EvrydayErik so far, i dont have any figures os super7 Thundercats..planning starting with the tank..but the price is too much..I’m gonna get the mp-57 masterpice transformers sky fire first which is half price of the tank..
I agree. Anyone who pays $500+ doesn't have any room to complain, because they're enabling super7 to charge these outrageous prices. I'd love to have one, but it's going to definitely have to be several hundred dollars cheaper for me
More toy/action figure reviews! This was incredibly funny. I’d never seen a grumpy toy review. The tank 🪖 is actually badass. What are you griping about? My only complaint is that it doesn’t really push easily. But it looks superb. Lion-o fits perfectly.
Thanks Raphael! Yeah, I’m off and grumpy. It’s the time of the month when I get my credit card bill. I’m staring at this thing on the floor and I’m still debating - did I need it? Maybe I can store it under my bed with the glow in the dark eyes peeking out.
Just keep on doing your own thing Erik. People will catch on, I'm positive. This brings back memories from when I was playing with toys like this. Somehow I wasn't so picky about the actual quality and crappy stuff appeared awesome. Kind of like Disney shows nowadays. Edit. I liked the Samoflange.
Thanks Ofthetree! I think I might store this thing under my bed with the eyes peeking out. I’m not gonna lie, I had no idea what a Samoflange was until I looked it up!
@@EvrydayErik Those Thundercats outtakes were pretty funny. I was a kid when this show was on but missed out, I remember h-man and inspector gadget apart from the Norwegian stuff. And now I got a bunch of Thundertank reviews in my recommended menu. lol
Yeah, it’s hard to figure out what it is. They offered me a $75 refund. I took it because they didn’t offer anything else, not even the exchange or return.
I gotta commend Super7 still for the effort unlike Hasbro, Mattel, and Disney who couldn't even do this for the francises that they own with their billion-dollars.
gotta agree the lack of features for this vehicle is disappointing, and getting a smudge like that for its price is annoying - hopefully you could remove that "stain" the way gundam customizers clean their spru marks but again you shouldnt have to do that for its price point - hopefully mine wont have issues when it arrives
Yeah, I’ve been watching my DVDs all weekend, and I do wish that the tank had more features and add on accessories that’s shown in the cartoon. They gave me a partial refund, so I’m gonna try to get the snarf Poodoo off.
Dude. I forgot the name of your channel, and had the hardest time finding you. Anyways. You know…. It’s a beautiful piece regardless. Bigger is always better. Still trying to get my game room up to speed like yours.
No worries, RU-vid forgot about my channel too. Good luck on the game room, I haven’t picked up any new cabinets in a while. Arcade1up needs to come out with something new.
The scratch is fine, it's a tank after all. The price is high, at least for me that work at a Home Depot. If i would had a better job, i would have not hesitate to get it.😊
@@EvrydayErik I heard they have a payment plan in the pre-sale of Catslair, similar to the way they did with Classic Snake Mountain. That might be my best option.
You know you’re right, the seams on top of the pause looked terrible. I completely missed that until you brought it up. Now I can’t on see it. Yeah that’s a bad design choice.
@@EvrydayErik Erik i appreciate your videos because you are living my dream. If i could i would have your set ups with the video games and toys. I wish i lived near you to see your stuff in person. Keep up your videos they bring great memories and laughs.
Hey, thank you! They should’ve put that on the box. This thing did not come with instructions. I wish it came with some blast effects or projectiles that you could simulate the cool stuff the guns did in the cartoon.
@@EvrydayErik I have 2 of them and I'm happy with what I received. I agree they should of packed instructions. In their promos and interview the 3 barreled cannon and base were supposed to be removable, but it isn't ! And the tank treads rolled freely in the promo vid without much force, but apparently the final product doesn't !
This thing definitely doesn't have the quality like the haslab hiss tank. Super7 needs to step up their game for what they charge. Would love to start collecting these, but just can't pull the trigger.
Yeah, I stopped collecting these. I’ve got the court characters, so I’m good now. This time, with all the engineering and the lights, is worth the money.
This needed to be weathered and painted better for that price.. It should not have all painted pieces like the components unter the front paws- that should look much better... And the cannons look like straws.. I'm sorta dissapointed in how toyish it looks.. Looks at ultimate Millennium Falcon - that thing is one of the greatest playset / Vehicles I've ever seen ever ever No Matter What size. It's a true masterpiece. That's the level of quality I expect to see for these prices.
Yeah, I totally agree. To be honest I’m done collecting super seven figures. The quality just isn’t there and they’re so overpriced. I have enough and it’s time to cut ties with them.
They could of made it thinner, add led lights cause I assure you that isn't expensive at all. The arms should of been thinner though. And the figures can't really sit making this pointless.
You’re right, because of the Thundertank, I’m discovering that none of these figures can sit. They just sort of lean back with their legs out in front of them. I really want to stop collecting this line.
It’s not just you, it does look not impressive. It resembles the vintage toy and the cartoon didn’t add much detail to that. I will say the weapons are you in the cartoon fart a lot a unique projectiles that would’ve been nice to include with this. Definitely a missed opportunity.
_Heeeey,_ you got the same slave Leia (I mean "Jabba's captured her Leia", or whatever bullshit disney is saying) cardboard cutout as I've had since the '90s. Man, seeing your arcade cabinets remind me of how much I wanted a couple Arcade 1ups. Well, like three, or four...or five.
Hey Chalor! It’s definitely Slave Leia, Slave-1 and Anakin was a Slave. You have good taste sir. Yeah these Arcade1up’s are a lot of fun. I’m out of room now, so I’m not sure what I’ll do if they come out with something cool again. Thanks for stopping by the channel, cheers!
so I'm thinking of buying it but the price is a bit expensive, what do you recommend, is it a good purchase or will I cry my money, although from the videos I've seen it's a very nice vehicle
Hi Nikos! So, if you’ve been collecting most of the figures, this is basically going to be the centerpiece of the collection. I’d say go for it. It’s big and heavy - basically a playset, and it’s probably the most iconic thong other than a character in the cartoon.
@@EvrydayErik the only thing I can suggest is it looks like that panel comes out. I would pull it out and turn it around and see if it will go back in like that.
@@greyskywarren6028 yeah they don’t return or replace. Their customer service is pretty poor. At least they got back to me this time, sometimes in the past, they won’t even respond when I had a figure with issues.
I’ve been playing my ThunderCats DVDs and staring at this thing all weekend. I’m starting to like it a little bit better. But you’re right it’s too expensive.
I have it laying on my couch while I’m watching ThunderCats DVDs. I’m feeling a little bit better about my purchase as long as I forget about the price.
Thanks for the tip WG! It sucks getting a surprise like that when you open up you’re over priced hunk of plastic. I think I’m just gonna let my son beat the hell out of it at this point.
It’s nice, but you’re right about it being $200 too much. It’s a giant brick. Who am I kidding? I’m about to pay 1000 cdn for a classics Castle Grayskull, that I didn’t buy when it came out.
I have 2 Classics Castle Grayskull. One was $300 when it was first released by Matty Collector back in the day and other believe it or no i won on ebay yearsss ago for only $85+ dollares...yes...that cheap in the box. It was some Fluke ebay auction and no one saw it posted for some odd reason. I was the only bidder for the starting price. The seller actually sold it to me for that price and was expecting some exscuse when i won it. I have it still in the box in my attic along with the Bat Wing which i dont have any room for as well.
I'd try cleaning that stain with Goo Gone but if it doesn't come out, I'd definitely try to exchange for another one. This Thundertank looks awesome and the size seems very proportional to the action figures. The 10 year old me would be in heaven if I had this back in the day, even with that stain on it!
Thanks Arioca for the tip! Yeah, I’ve been watching my ThunderCats DVDs this weekend and I’m a little bit more excited about my purchase. I wish I did have a few more extra features. Like the back trunk needs to open up to fit snarf. 🤷♂️
This is my third huge 6/7" scaled vehicle, and the DC Collectibles BTAS Batmobile and Batwing put this to shame, at a fraction of the cost - and not like those came out a decade ago with the "...but inflation!" BS. So if there was Dollar Tree LED lights in the cockpit, and definitely headlights...it'd feel more justifiable with the $350 price. Oh yeah, this thing was $500 fuckin' dollars. Way more expensive than the Engine of Vengeance, but no figure, barely any accessories, no lights...but at least the ThunderTank includes a top, middle, AND a bottom.
I agree, I see that MacFarland just released the Batman vehicles for the flash movie. They look huge and we know they’re going to be $50-$100. I will see the Thundertank is surprisingly heavy, but that’s probably due to faulty design on super7’s part. I didn’t buy this thing hoping it was heavy. I will say, I’m glad I have it, and I’m watching my Thundercat DVDs now and feeling better about the purchase, as long as I forget about the price.
I've had mine for a week and it is kind of too big. I do agree though this is "the" vehicle for Thundercats and really outside of a Cat's Lair that would be the size of a house the Thundertank is all we really need from this line.
100% it should have lights and sound. Super 7 now about to scalp fans again with cats lair. In europe it will cost 1400 euros after postage and taxes and it doesnt have any sounds either.
Yeah, normally I’m real quick to buy this crap. But I’m delaying here. I have Castle Grayskull on snake Mountain so I’m not sure I’m gonna put cats lair. Who are we kidding? I’ll probably end up getting it.
You should definately not throw away the box. Seems like you were very unfortunate with the black gooo. I would be inclined to just print up an extra thundercat logo and stick it over it. Could have been alot worse.but definately worth letting super 7 know as this is a super over priced piece. Is just a huge piece of plastic that don't do that much. I do like it and want 1 but think £350 would be a much fairer price point. 👍😉
Yeah, I haven’t thrown away the box yet. Super7 said they cannot exchange nor return. They offered me a $75 refund and I took it. I’m letting my son play with it at this point so it’s all good. It’s just super disappointing when you pay the price and open it up and you see some thing like that. I think I’m over it now.
I’ve been watching my DVDs this weekend. I did wish this came with some blast effects or some tow cables, saw blades, or some extra accessories, representing what the tank can do.
Wow that thing is a beast! I love it, lol, you’re right, it should’ve come with some LED lights … not goo… (bleh)… Collecting the S7 ThunderCats line is expensive, I had to be more selective, and pass on that bad boy. Ty so much for the review Eric! As always informative and entertaining! 😂
Thank you OhSnap! I did enjoy having this on the couch while I watched my ThunderCats DVDs this weekend. They did offer me a partial credit, which I guess I’ll take and then try to scrub off Snarf’s poodoo. After watching the cartoon, I do think it should have some more accessories and features.
Overall I think the tank turned out pretty good. My three Complaints 1) the trunk doesn't open. 2) It needs wheels back by the treads since they didn't make it so the treads really move well. 3) Really needs spring loaded missiles for all the guns. On a side note, the gap (hole as you put it) with the windshield and battle cover, I also wondered about , until I realized its there so the Jaw can still open when it's in place
Hey, thanks for your comments knightwolfpro. I’ve been watching the DVDs all weekend and yeah I really wish that back trunk did open so Snarf could hide in there. I also think a spring loaded gun, or maybe just some blast effects or tow cables would’ve been nice to go with these guns. After watching the cartoons, I’m feeling better about my purchase. Thanks again for checking in!
250-300$ is definitely the right price and with my past dealings with Super7 I know for a fact they arnt going to send out a whole new Thunder tank for that small of a defect but if that back panel is removable they might send you a new panel but you'd have to if it's even possible take the back panel out yourself and send it in to them and they send you a new back wall panel?...but taking that back panel out and putting a new one in you take the chance of possible breaking or skuffing up something else.
The modeler in me is looking at this and going Ooo! I see lots of things to do to customize it! But of course never at the price of this thing. For a far far braver soul than me it probably would not be too hard to replace at least some of the idler wheels with free spinning ones and convert the rear road wheels to actually be driven by motors hiding in that trunk. Lighting the cockpit would also be easy. expensive but easy.
I hear what you’re saying, a skilled modeler could really mod this thing into something bad ass. Maybe even with lights! I’m sure someone will do it, but not me.
Yeah, I don’t get that either how some companies can make vehicles for 50 bucks. McFarlane comes to mind. I will say this thing is super wide and very very heavy. I think $150 of the price was just probably for shipping.
The amount of people just skimming past the fact the treads don't roll blows my mind. They paid $500 for a tank that doesn't roll and then say... "check out this awesome thundertank!"
Yeah, I’ll tell you the truth - it’s just a big hunk, a plastic for my Figures to sit on. Hopefully the rubber is durable. My biggest complaint is it could use a few more features, like the back trunk should be bigger and shit open to hold snarf, stuff like that. It’s really expensive for a big hunk a plastic that does very little.
Yeah, the treads not rolling was a big bummer for me. It is more of a playset than a vehicle. For the price it could have more features/electronics, but either way I'm happy to have it, it looks really cool.
Us collectors know it is basically a huge display piece item. So don't really expect it to be fully play friendly. Especially at such a high price point. Just nice to have to go with super 7s ultimate thundercats figures. More of an investment item.
Very imposing vehicle. I think the price is too high but I also understand that its an essential or almost mandatory collection item for the fans. Don't have any remorse, great vid Erik.👍
Thank you, Vitor! Yeah, I’ve been watching my Thundercat DVDs and I’m feeling better about having the thundertank. It’s basically essential for the collection. Unfortunately, super7 knows that.
I’d get a refund and not a replacement. Not worth the price for that monstrosity that has zero electronics built into it. It’s a shelf killer and doesn’t enhance the display look of the figures. Imagine how many other cool figures you could display in the same place that that huge chunk of plastic takes up. With that said, I’d consider picking it up for $250.
@@EvrydayErik that’s an unfortunate no-win situation for you. If it were me, I would inquire about getting a reasonable discount so that both sides are somewhat satisfied.
@@perceivedvelocity9914 I didn’t say it needed electronics, I was just pointing out that the materials used to make this toy does not justify the high price tag. In fact, the reason it’s priced high is because ADULT collectors are the ones buying these (not kids) and they will be continuously priced high for as long the consumer continues to support it. I don’t see that happening much longer though.
I just think this thing could use some extra bells and whistles. I’ve been watching the show all weekend and the tank did have a lot of features not represented here.
For the money that this thing costs, yet, it is a big deal! I would NOT even try to remove it using thinner or nail polish remover. Let's hope Super 7 will fix this !
Yeah, I’m not gonna touch it until I hear some kind of response. You would think for this money they better get back to me this time. They haven’t done a really good job in the past. Just being honest. I should’ve ordered this through big bad toy store and not directly from 7.
Yeah, this super7 toy is definitely gray. The hot wheels mini is more white. And I think the tank looks more white in the cartoon. But I don’t mind the grey color. It’s the color of my ATAT Walker.
@@Recoverel I’ve been a little sick this weekend, so I’ve been watching my Thundercat DVDs. I’m enjoying my purchase more just staring at it on the couch with all the figures on top of it. I also ordered the Mandora with her cycle, I haven’t opened that up yet, but just watched her second episode and I think I’ll open that next.
Super7 overcharges for their ultimates figures that do not have modern day articulation. Brian and Josh both hate the double jointed features that all modern figures use. $55 for a toy that can't be posed as good as a $22 Hasbro figure. Now these hipsters put out a Thundertank that cost $500 and that piece of hollow, undetailed, nonfunctioning piece of plastic is as functional as their overpriced yet non posable Ultimately bad, ultimately overpriced figures. The monitors don't light up? No launching missile action? No remote control features? People are paying $500 for a hunk of undetailed plastic that has no lighting effects, funtions or sounds. Hasbro Pulse's ambitious projects at least have light up features and don't cost half a grand for what appears to be just hallow plastic. I'll save my big money for anything that Jazzinc Dioramas put out.
@@EvrydayErik I got rid of ALL my Super7 Thundercats figures. I am waiting for a real toy company like a McFarlane, Hasbro Pulse, SH Figurarts or Medicom/Mafex to buy the T-Cats license and show them Ultimate-ReAction-hipsters what a real Thundercats Figure is supposed to look and pose like and for a way better price and quality overall.
Yeah, I wanted to get to Thundercats from super7 because they go nicely with all my He-Man figures I started with Mattel. These companies know what they’re doing and how to get my money. 🤷♂️
