Just about every time I make a video, I think "Mannn, I SHOULD have mentioned this also." One of those things is: OF COURSE you can use something like a massager or sander with sandpaper removed to vibrate bubbles out of the mold. When making the Free-Range Chicken, we used a dual-head back massager and it worked very well. It may be ideal to fill the mold PARTIALLY, hit it with the vibration while you tilt it at different angles to allow any trapped bubbles to escape, then fill it the rest of the way and hit it with vibration some more. Happy casting to you! Steady Craftin videos are made with the help of DIRECT SUPPORT: www.patreon.com/steadycraftin (You'll also get access to the printable 3D scans of my original sculpted figures, MP3s, exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, shop discounts, and more.) My family and I are so grateful that I get to do this.
@@flapjack6495 I imagine it would, in some way. But might not be the most efficient. Also remember you can rotate the mold mold around and tap-tap-tap the bottom and sides with your hand.
I was one of those folks who emailed you regarding bubbles and you very kindly replied with a detailed and thoughtful email with tons of ideas. THANK YOU CRAFSMAN... you da best!
“Crafsman, you’re so ridiculous”. - correction: Crafsman you’re perfectly ridiculous, or more correctly ridiculously perfect! Thank you for sharing your wonderful self with us.
I'm sorry Crafsman, but your channel is the highest quality channel on RU-vid. Every aspect is the perfect balance of well thought out creativity and random humor.
I don't use resin. But, I use chocolate these tips help me too using food safe things and either way I'm watching this video! 😊 Thank you! 🤗 Love your videos!!! 😎
@@andy-in-indy similar to this when working with molds you get bubbles in the chocolate. The holes where bubbles were mess up the final result. Those are great ideas I do know people use powdered sugar, cocoa powder and corn starch at times.
CrafsMan, while you searched for cups at the end, your singing made me very happy, because I realized that YOU MUST BE HAPPY to be singing, while you fiddle around getting things done. That’s really nice.
I was just thinking, "I wonder why I haven't seen any crafsman video on my feed lately, am I subscribed?" and I was subscribed, they just never appeared. So this makes me think it has something to do with the youtube algorythm. The quality of your videos is outstanding, and I say this with love. I have heard of youtubers changing their thumbnail design to appeal to the algorythm. I hope this helps Crafsman, we want to see you thrive!!
Your tone Your style Your teaching style Your musical talents Your crafts Your anecdotes Your videos on random things as well All of these are truly a blessing Crafsman. Thanks for taking the time in this short life to entertain and teach us. Can't wait for you to break a million subscribers. It's gonna happen my dude.
Crafsman, the quality in the video is you, and Crafsfamily. If people need music in the videos for them to be better, then they need to turn on their radio in the background.
I saw your astronaut chicken sculpt video and I felt so relaxed and inspired about my craft. Sincerely I thought that you should get an academy award for your videos, your work and your tutorials! Best wishes...
Was just chillin in bed, YTin some cement crafts, just asked for some for my Bday. Hubby was tryin to sleep. 5 seconds into finding you, i started laughin. He started laughin.... You kept us up all night! Lol YOU ARE HILARIOUS! 😂😂😂😂
@craftycrumbs - I was going to mention that many terrain crafters use this heat and layer technique to remove bubbles in their, clear-resin, streams, rivers, and bodies-of-water. Great to see this comment!
You’re blowing my mind with the music! Oh yeah, got my T-shirt yesterday and I’m wearing it to do all my crafting in hopes of channeling your creativity.
Crafsman, I don't use resin yet but I have to tell you, I find your videos so interesting and the wonderful gentle way you speak just makes me feel relaxed and happy in your company, that I watched this video anyway. You are an interesting man with a gorgeous voice and when you say, 'come on now,' I find myself smiling happily. God bless you Crafsman. You are one of a kind!
Glad you like that! Thank you for letting me know. :D It was something I had no idea about until a few videos back. I know how much I would enjoy that on other videos, so I like to add it to my ones. :D
Awwww YEAH, Uncle Jessy! :D I'm excited for you, sir! Holler at me if I can be of assistance. But I don't think you'll have any problems. Mold-making ain't no hill for a stepper like Uncle Jessy! ;)
Love ya CrafsMan. Ya know I watch your videos because you are a beautiful human being. Haven't done much craftin the past couple years but just enjoy your entire presentation. Keep up your excellent self!
Honestly I prefer him on RU-vid Just because he has more creative freedom and is in Dogtown by corporate mandates which I feel would just break his spirit
I only found this channel recently but it's by far my new favourite on RU-vid 😌 thanks for the bubble advise craftsman! My future resin dice projects thank you 😊
Is no one going to talk about that "konnichiwa"?!?!😂You sure know how to keep it fresh Crafsman! You got me in a great mood already only 6 seconds into your video! (also I like the new sky background it really brightens the video up.)
The knowledge and information that you bring forth is amazing.....truly! But you lighting, your lighting skills......I am a believer in the moods that you create. So, so good. Warmth. We have seen vids where you have discussed the lights and filters that you use that help in creating the atmosphere that you wish to share, but still.....beyond comparison! From the smallest, general thing, right down to a focused topic/feature, it's the attention to every detail.
Bingo! Your videos are what I've been looking for - several ways to do molding with inexpensive products & a variety of projects - and with a casual easygoing host.
Brilliant, as usual - and anything that involves robots gets an automatic thumbs up from me! :) Here's another tip for reducing boobles - and helping your casting material flow into tiny nooks and crevices: heat your mold first! Use a hairdryer or hot air gun (set on low, or held a long way back!) or, even better, leave your mold to soak in hot water for ten minutes. Let it dry off (and it'll dry quite quickly cos it's already warm) and then pour your goo into it: the heat will reduce the viscosity of the goo and make it easier for the boobles to rise to the surface. It works particularly well if you're casting in a material that hardens when it cools - like chocolate or sugary candy stuff. The warm mold keeps it warm for longer and lets it flow into every little detail.
Super useful!!! That's ALWAYS my problem. I have such a small craft area a pressure pot would take up half of it.......and I'm kind of scared of them. LOL. But I keep getting bubbles in my molds and it drives me batty. This was such a great video with so many different solutions!
That's a good idea, actually. I've found these particular materials to be just expensive across the board, due to the elements required to make them. I can say tin-cure silicone is generally cheaper than platinum-cure silicone, but there's a strength disadvantage, too. And that would be the deal with resin... because the cheaper stuff tends to be more brittle. So I guess we'd have to factor in what we're using them for. We could also talk about ways to get the most mileage out of your materials, like recycling silicone chunks, and using backfill materials with slush casting. I've made a note to make a video about this! Look for it to be covered sometime down the road. ;)
@@TheCrafsMan I think a big step in getting you even more comfortable and less stressed about the release of a weekly video is when we get you to understand that, while every single one of us absolutely love the crafts, a lot of times we are just here to hear your voice, watch you make crafs, and hear you're incredibly well timed comedic jokes... Sometimes I'm not even sure you realize just how funny some of your natural quirks are... it's one of the most endearing parts about the many endearing things about you. To most of us you are like everything all in one package. ASMR, unintentional ASMR, crafts, old stories, cool info about the process of making these types of videos and how it grows over time with your channel, collectors, makers..... I'm serious when I say that I can go on like that all day, but I'll spare you lol So anytime you feel like you're making the same video twice or anytime you feel like your videos need more, please stop and remember this -- it doesn't and they don't. Most of us are here because of you. There are tens of thousands of crafting videos on RU-vid, many great channels, but they all lack one huge detail - they aren't Crafsman. Most of us wouldn't care if you simply made a video taping your weekly adventures in crafting and simply talking over it like you normally do the whole time - sometimes about the actual craft you're doing and sometimes about non-craft stuff. Quite literally put that video on every single week and your core audience would have never been happier or more pleased. So if you're ever fighting with yourself about always needing to "one-up" yourself at certain points in time..... please don't do that, because it is never ever necessary. You one-up yourself all the time just by growing and learning and letting us take a peek at your personal progress on your journey to fulfill lifelong dreams! Never ever doubt yourself or the fact that your style simply works.
Fantastic. Great entertainment! I thought you said lets do some shop love... not shop log..... Now I cant stop thinking shop love even though I'm reading shop log on the screen.
I was trying to get to sleep an hour ago and I always look up your videos and put it on the playlist so they automatically play through. Sometimes that’s the only thing that can get me to sleep after a really crappy day. Or crappy year. So extremely stoked to see a new video posted! I hope you’re doing well!
i just wanna say i used to only do pen and paper sort of arts, and a bit of sculpting and minis, but after the wonderful experience this channel (and others that came into my recommended after :) ) has brought me, i've started to study making all sorts of knick knacks and pattywacks, so thank you, crafsman.
