Solo hike up Quandary Peak (14,265 feet) on June 14, 2024.
Round Trip Distance 6.75 miles round trip from the Quandary Peak Trailhead
Elevation Gain: 3,450 feet
Difficulty: Moderate
Directions to Trailhead:
Located 8 miles south of Breckenridge on the west side of Hwy 9. Between June 15 to September 15, 2024 a parking permit is required for $30 (Monday-Thursday), $55 (Friday-Sunday). There is also a shuttle bus from Breckenridge for $7 round trip. See hikequandary.com/ for more details

Overcast with snow above 13,000 feet
Temperature: 60F at the trailhead

Thanks, you should try it. Another fun hike in that area is the Decalibron Loop, four 14ers in a 7 mile loop.

You should, it’s a good one! Just remember you need a parking permit unless you take the shuttle from Breckenridge. No mountain goats on this one. I did Grays & Torreys and Mt Massive over the weekend and saw a bunch of mountain goats on both hikes, so cool!
