Quantity Surveyor vs Construction Estimator || Whats The Difference? 

Hey Nothando! Great video as always. One thing I always remember was when an older QS and Estimator were having a conversation with me. They both agreed that "A Quantity Surveyor can be an estimator but an estimator can never be a Quantity Surveyor." That one sentance made me decide to go down the QS route and I'm glad for it.

I have been working as a commercial concrete estimator for 8 years. Prior to this career change, I was working as a revit technician (draftsmen) for a large structural engineer. The change has been wonderful. I personally feel the career change opened the world up to me both professionally and financially. I always try to recommend this change to draftsmen. It’s something that I had never considered. Draftsmen easily have the ability to get into QS and estimating and like will receive 35% pay increase.

In my opinion Estimators are still same as Quantity surveyors
