If the new show will be successful, they have to have a mix between the elements of the original and something that is unique and GOOD for the new show. Something that wasn't in the original.
@@Guitarman092004 a starting twist would be Sam meeting his son and the leap trading places , and Sam being Al , since Al has died ! Would be awesome even if it was a movie to regenerate the Quantum !
Heather Duncan That episode really endeared me to AL. My bf saw my reaction because I was so overwhelmed with emotion. LOL It was my favourite episode.
Not my favorite episode but my favorite ending is when Sam helps out Buddy Holly with Peggy Sue. In addition my daughter told me about a quantum leap meme where Sam jumps into the body of captain Archer. Whoever made that mean deserves a genius award.
Huge fan of Quantum Leap. Always wished they had brought it back in some incarnation, but without Stockwell, it won't be the same. Still, it'll be good to see Bakula bcak as Sam. A precursor for the show was the Battlestar Galactica episode "Experiment in Terra" which was produced by Bellisario. My favorite episode was probably "The Leap Home, Parts 1 and 2". RIP, Dean.
Dean Stockwell has always been one of my favorite Actors. What a career he’s had❗️ I have 18 of his movies on DVD. I definitely agree, he was outstanding in Compulsion. The Happy Years, Paper Man, Kim, and Stars In My Crown, are my favorites. Also a couple of TV guest stars, including one in Streets Of San Francisco. I believe he was also into Marshal Arts, if I remember correctly. Rites Of Passage is a really good twisted thriller. (( His brother Guy Stockwell, also an Actor: [ Gatling Gun].)) 📻🙂
Quantum Leap is my all-time favorite TV show. I watched it when it originally aired & never missed an episode. My husband eventually got me the entire series on DVD and I watch it frequently, sharing it with our daughters. I'm torn between "What Price Gloria" and "Trilogy" (the entire 3-episode set) as favorite.
I like the show when he went in and he saved his brother from dying in Vietnam but what happened was as they rescued Dean Stockwell from the pit that's when the tears came out
Thank you for this much enjoyable leap back in time with you reminiscing this great show and glimpses of many other movies & shows with these great actors 🥰🥰🥰
i began watching Quantum Leap after seeing that Dean Stockwell was in it. I saw the Boy with Green hair and a few more of his childhood movies. I followed Scott to the NCIS series too.
What a performance he delivered in quantum leap, seriously i believe that tv in my lifetime I'll never ever see a show like this again. Scott, Stockwell, are awesome.
Great video - Thank You! And, Thank You for all the hard work you put into finding all abt these actors lives after the show! I don’t care all that much for SciFi stuff but I love this show! I think many years ago it was on the USA Channel w all the re-runs & I watched them all!
In 1989 Dean Stockwell was in a movie called "Limit Up", where he played a tough-love type stock broker. My favorite episodes of Quantum Leap were the ones which put Sam into people that were the most opposite of what he was, like the ones where he was a woman. I would rank Quantum Leap up with The Twilight Zone and Star Trek as sci-fi tv shows that prove that the terms "sci-fi" and "horror" don't have to be synonymous. All three of them could scare the * out of you in one episode🥺🥺, warm your heart 🎉😊🙂🙃 in one, and have you rolling on the floor laughing in another🤣😂.
Love the show. Dean Stockwell also appeared on an episode of Enterprise. Captain Johnathan Archer and helmsman Mayweather were in a Sulabon detention center where Dean played the warden. On Quantum Leap I loved the way that Dr. Beckett would appear in different races and sexs. It showed Scott Bacula's acting chops. His most recent endeavor NCIS New Orleans is a great success.
11:30 my favorite episode of Quantum Leap is atually a toss up between the one where he leaped into a pregnant woman, the one where he was a mom of the boy that was kidnapped, and the one where he was Stephen King( that one was a Halloween special) but then again, I liked the one where he was Jimmy (a mentally challenged man) I honostly dont remember any movies Dean Stokwell was in, but I do remember he was in an episode of Murder She Wrote.
I remember the first scene of the first episode of Quantum Leap. Dean has to get back to the lab so he drops off his date. Camera is on her heels as she steps out of the car, and it has lights blinking on the back of the heel. I never saw that first scene again in any of the reruns.
Probably the best show I have ever watched, Dean did do a cameo on NCIS New Orleans, as far as Q L, the three best episodes (In my opinion) The Leap Home, The Leap to Vietnam and the Final Leap….although they were all really good. Thanks for the video. Cheers
I was a huge fan of Quantum Leap. The opening music hits a nostalgic good feeling for me. I love Dean Stockwell ♥️ I just saw him today in a Twilight Zone episode. Dean, in his 20s, I believe he looked like James Dean. I really enjoy your videos. Very well done. Thank you 😊
I consider quantum leap the best TV sci-fi shows of the early 90s. I loved all episodes and I even got the full complete set. A lot of people don’t remember Dean Stockwell and n the Twilight Zone playing an army officer eager to kill Japanese in World War II only to switch over to the other side to see the same attitude through the enemy. Many people including myself do not agree with the final episode of quantum leap as it ended with Dr. Sam Beckett not returning home. But after careful thought, it was Sam who changed history and Al never existed in the project of porn a leap. Therefore, the quantum leap project actually never happened. This means that I’ll married his sweetheart and Dr. Sam Beckett never leapt. At least this is the thought that I have. If I had to pick a favorite episode it was the one where he leapt into his young self as a teenager yet could not change history to save his father from dying of lung cancer.
Great series, I think the show made a great connection with people ,I've no doubt we wish that we would like to move in time to put right what once went wrong.
I don't know Al and Sam's rolls are actually involved now IE they made a girl.( and there involved). It also bring me some diversity in the fact that they are making Sam's roll Asian.
Check out Stephen Kings "The Langoliers" Stockwell played a mystery writer named Bob Jenkens, who along with a handful of passengers on a flight wake up to discover they're the only passengers left after a good majority mysteriously disappear.
What a great show and I’m wondering what’s going on with the reboot and with all the sci fi show madness going on you would think someone would green light it.I read that one storyline was that Sans wife had a daughter and she tries to find what happened to her father but who knows.I still do t hate that last episode of QL even though it was put together fast after they found out QL wasn’t getting a 6th season but to all QL fans there are transcripts online of what the last episode was supposed to be and sounded cool
Hey I don't know if you just didn't mention it or didn't know, Deanne Stockwell was in a famous Twilight Zone original series called "A Quality of Mercy" where he played a bloodthirsty American lieutenant in the Pacific front of World War 2 that temporarily is put in the place of a Japanese soldier in a different part of the war.
There is alot to unpack with Quantum Leap (the original and reboot). There are so many questions on both shows. Sam's actual body did in fact leap throught time. Remember that three part leap series with Abigail? How come no one speaks to the people in the "waiting room" on the reboot show? Where is the original Quantum Leap team? Where is Tina, Dr. Beeks, Gooshie, Dr. Donna Eleese and of course Sammy Jo Fuller? More importantly where is the Lothos team? Where is Alia, Zoey & Thames? We never found out what happened to Tom , Katie & Thelma Beckett. We don't know what happe6 to Jon o I know either (Kathies husband after Charles). Is Martinez (Leaper X) a part of the Lothos team? How was Ian able to leap into the past but then still go "home" in the distant future? Neither Sam or Ben are able to "go home" like Ian did, I wonder why. 🤔. How was Sammy Jo Fuller able to find her way to Quantum Leap (Original) if she never knew Sam Beckett was her father? I can't imagine a lot of people were even aware of the Quantum Leap project. I don't think the QL people put an ad in Linkedin or something looking to hire a Quantum Physista. Is there a connection between Sammy Jo Fuller and Addison? If Ziggy and Lothos are AI systems, who created them? 🤔
I have been a fan of Dean Stockwell for years!!!! Not sure how but Scott Bakula HAD to return to this show and surely with the wonders of Computers Stockwiell can be brought back for a lot of scenes... I think the New Magyver is WEAk and don't want to see that happen to Quantum!
If there was a series that I would love to be remake..... Its definitely quantum leap .... The finale is still a question what happen to Dr Sam Beckett
I DID NOT LIKE THE SERIES FINAL EPISODE! LIKE TOO MANY DRAMAS WITH A PREMISE, "QUANTUM LEAP" FAILED TO DO THE RIGHT THING, AND BRING DR. BECKETT BACK TO HIS OWN TIME, HIS OWN FAMILY! THAT STINKS!!!!
Let me begin by saying, I love Scott Bakula, Dean Stockwell, and the entire cast of QL... I, furthermore, am a huge fan of NCIS: New Oleans. I don't understand WHY, of all the ones to cancel, you cancel that one...CRAZY! Anyway, with a reboot of QL apparently happening let me make my view perfectly clear, NO BAKULA, NO WATCH! If he desired to return to his role as Beckett and was told "NO".....as much as I enjoyed QL, count me out. Society feels like we have to accommodate every group that exists or we might offend somenone.... Lord forbid that we do that! If it ain't broke, why do we constantly feel the need to fix it?...AGAIN! RIP Dean Stockwell, you are missed!
